Great listen!

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I liked that this was a recording of a live play so I could hear its authenticity. Perfect way to listen to it!

Historia
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to a fan or a Gilmore Girls fan. Not sure how a newbie would receive it, but I felt like my friend was talking to me.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Talking as Fast as I Can?
I loved all of it -the personal stories and the specifics on Gilmore Girls, but I particularly liked the last chapter/s describing the Revival since it was fresh on my mind.

I also enjoyed her thoughts on love and relationships.

Historia
From comedian and writer ( Parks and Recreation, Eastbound & Down) Harris Wittels comes a hysterical breakdown of boasts, brags, and self-adulation disguised as humble comments and complaints - based on his popular @humblebrag Twitter feed. >Something immediately annoyed Harris Wittels about Twitter. All of a sudden it was acceptable to brag, so long as those brags were ever-so-thinly disguised as transparent humility....

HIlarious - Why didn't I think of this?!
Revisado: 07-25-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely. I laughed out loud. Brilliant.
What other book might you compare Humblebrag to and why?
Not really a book, but I think of his commentary similar to any of the dry-witted commentators on any of the VH1's I Love the XX's shows. Just dry and deadpan.
What does Harris Wittels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His dry demeanor - just loved it.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
This isn't really film material.

Historia
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, the landscape of television began an unprecedented transformation. While the networks continued to chase the lowest common denominator, a wave of new shows, first on premium-cable channels like HBO and then basic-cable networks like FX and AMC, dramatically stretched television’s narrative inventiveness, emotional resonance, and artistic ambition. No longer necessarily concerned with creating always-likable characters, plots that wrapped up neatly every episode, or subjects that were deemed safe and appropriate, shows such as The Wire, The Sopranos, Mad Men, and more tackled issues of life and death, love and sexuality....

Interesting because I watch these shows
Revisado: 07-25-15
If you could sum up Difficult Men in three words, what would they be?
HBO and AMC
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
Getting into the heads of the creators of the shows I love just helps me let them live on. I found it interesting.
What does Keith Szarabajka bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He does different voices, like James Gandolfino as Tony Soprano.
If you could give Difficult Men a new subtitle, what would it be?
Difficult Men...and Why we love them
Any additional comments?
The only time I seemed to gloss over a section is when he was describing The Wire - which I've never seen. But for the shows I know, it was fascinating. This would be best appreciated by a TV aficionado. It was also interesting to hear about the struggles some of the creators had to get their shows picked up - sort of an Inside the Actors Studio sort of way.

Revisado: 07-25-15
If you could sum up The Start Here Diet in three words, what would they be?
Motivating and inspiring
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Start Here Diet?
Small steps - easy things to do now to get started
Which scene was your favorite?
I enjoyed the personal stories and the recipes.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was - while I was walking. I just needed the inspiration.
Any additional comments?
I have several of her books and a cookbook. What was inspirational for me was that I could listen to this while being active so it was motivating me to continue. The informational isn't new and it's common sense, but if you need that little voice...it serves as a little voice of encouragement.
