Historia
Luke Whitney is stabbed to death. His wife Anna confesses after she is found next to his lifeless body. But if she did it, why can't she confirm any of the details of the crime? As police dig into the circumstances, they learn that the victim was a liar, a cheat and a narcissist. More than one person had a reason to want him dead; his scorned ex, his neglected mistress and Anna – who knows what happens to Mrs Whitneys when Luke gets bored of them.

A Cleverly Twisted Tale
Revisado: 05-03-25
Grabbed and held my interest throughout. Brought to mind the old sayings, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned", and "revenge is best served cold." The story is replete with dangerous games and dangerous liaisons.

Historia
Always on the periphery, looking on, young Frankie Howe was never quite sure enough of herself to take center stage—after all, life had already judged her harshly. Now old, Frankie finds it easier to forget the life that came before. Then Damian, a young Irish caretaker, arrives at her London flat, there to keep an eye on her as she recovers from a fall. A memory is sparked, and the past crackles into life as Damian listens to the story Frankie has kept stored away all these years.

Rough, Wild Ride
Revisado: 04-19-25
I have listened to most of S. A. Cosby's books and have been thoroughly entertained by them. This is no exception. Not a slow point in it. Gripping story well executed. Adam White is the best narrator out there. He could make 49 miles of bad road sound like a symphony.

To make things worse, Liz is the ex-girlfriend of DCI Craig Gillard who is drawn into the investigation. Is it just a missing person or something worse? A Long and Winding Road

It's not that often I get through a selection from the Plus Catalog but this one held my interest enough to do so. Quite the convoluted mystery. The narrator played a large part in keeping me going. Worth a listen.

Love the Dan Riley stories. This one was a particularly imaginative and creative one, albeit far fetched. But it's fiction, after all. Gripping and suspenseful from beginning to end. Not a dull moment.

There’s the well-dressed man in seat 4C desperate not to miss his daughter’s musical. A harried mother frantically tries to keep her toddler and baby quiet. Honeymooners still in their wedding finery dream of their new lives, while a chatty emergency room nurse dreams of retirement.

Difficult To Get Through
Revisado: 02-09-25
Possibly interesting premise but declined into endless meandering and excessively chatty, boring details about various characters. A wasted credit for me. Couldn't return it so suffered through by fast forwarding and didn't miss a thing. Everything came together at the end minus the painfully boring chatter.

Historia
Frederick Fife was born with an extra helping of kindness in his heart. If he borrowed your car, he’d return it washed with a full tank of gas. The problem is there’s nobody left in Fred’s life to borrow from. At eighty-two, he’s desperately lonely, broke, and on the brink of homelessness. But Fred’s luck changes when, in a bizarre case of mistaken identity, he takes the place of grumpy Bernard Greer at the local nursing home. Now he has warm meals in his belly and a roof over his head—as long as his poker face is in better shape than his prostate and that his look-alike never turns up.

Historia
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

A Very Convoluted Story
Revisado: 01-14-25
What I liked most is they had an actual man narrating the male character instead of a woman unconvincingly imitating one. Most annoying. Crazy as this story is, it took some imagination to create. The Father is a witless hot mess, and The Grandmother is one incredible piece of work. Some subtle humor and engaging dialogue.

Historia
The Frosts are a typical American family. Barb and John, married almost 50 years, are testy and bored with each other...who could blame them after all this time? At least they have their daughters - Barb's favorite, the perfect, brilliant Juliet; and John's darling, the free-spirited Sadie. The girls themselves couldn't be more different, but at least they got along, more or less. It was fine. It was enough. Until the day John had a stroke, and their house of cards came tumbling down. Now Sadie has to put her career as a teacher and struggling artist in New York on hold....

Idyllic With A Dose Of Realism
Revisado: 01-09-25
The author captured the pain of a less than successful marriage that went on too long. But introduced joy into the characters lives, making for happy, unexpected endings for all.
Sort of like a painting Norman Rockwell might have imagined.
