Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Somewhat Vague and Tenacious
Revisado: 03-23-24
The narration was good but the novel itself was somewhat disappointing despite the promising reviews. The characters could have been developed as more standing out and staying in the memory.

Great Must Read Novel
Revisado: 01-14-24
I heard a few people mention this novel and not being a fan of modern romance novels, decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. The novel contains beautiful descriptions of Alaskan nature, the survivalism on the frontier, and human nature. The characters are quite vivid. A few times, the writing seemed a bit elementary to me, like when Lenny was making jokes about the smell of “shit” in the outhouse and similar. The ending got a bit predictable, too. However, there were a few twists that were unexpected to me and added spice to the narrative. The book has some wisdom to it and made me ponder on a few questions. I’d rate it as 4.5 out of 5. The narrator was great and much appreciated.

Historia
Like most psychiatric concepts, codependency issues, symptoms, and effects are complicated. When you have a codependent personality disorder, you tend to have low self-esteem and turn to anything outside of yourself for comfort, such as alcohol, drugs, relationships, or compulsive behaviors. This can take a toll on your life, leaving you in a state of constant fear of abandonment, a compelling need to please and control others, and obsession with your partner. However, recovering from codependency is possible!

The book reads easily and has good content

Everything about the book seems nice.
It contains the explanation of the issue, offers solutions, and gives variables. One suggestion: include more real life stories as examples from real life.

Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

Magical though a bit long
Revisado: 10-20-22
Stunning story that I recommend to every American to read. At times, the author goes into repetitive narrative about Jobs but overall it’s an interesting read that reveals a lot of facts and conspiracies about the entrepreneur. The book doesn’t seem to be marred by Jobs’ own opinion, which is a huge plus. It’s pretty eloquently written, but I had to speed up the narrator a bit.

What was it in Sandra Day O'Connor's background and early life that helped make her the woman she is today - the first female justice of the US Supreme Court, and one of the most powerful women in America? In this beautiful, illuminating, and unusual book, Sandra Day O'Connor, with her brother, Alan, tells the story of the Day family and of growing up on the harsh yet beautiful land of the Lazy B Ranch in Arizona. Laced throughout these stories about three generations of the Day family, and everyday life on the Lazy B, are the lessons Sandra and Alan learned about the world.

Well written and narrated by Sarah Day O’Connor
Revisado: 06-23-21
This book was a pleasant surprise, in both content and the structure. Very well-versed, sharp, and simply written, the story offers a childhood description of Sarah Day and her brother Allan, as if seen by the eyes of children. I recommend this book to anyone.
