Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I am going to gift this to some of my grandchildren for Christmas. Such a good story.

How it flowed. no speed bumps or anything, just good narration of a great story. I am going to buy Rose now.
What does Charlotte Parry bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I have had a stroke so I can't hold books anymore. I would never had had the enjoyment of it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me cry, with all the hardships the family went through and still hung in there.
Any additional comments?

Jubal's Story
Revisado: 05-08-15
What did you love best about Jubal Sackett?
I really like the Sackett saga. I have read all of his books. I am now collecting the Audible ones. I like his courage.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Well, Jubal! I like that he wants to search the country to see what is over the next mountain. As with my Viking ancestors, I connect with this.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
He swallowed the ending of each word....Meetin', excitin, At first I thought that that was how Louis L'Amour wrote it, but I don't have the book in front of me...It got irritating.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
His sword fight was tooo short. I would like to have had more conversation with his opponent.

Historia
Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

Auri
Revisado: 11-04-14
What did you love best about The Slow Regard of Silent Things?
This story is about Auri. I don't know about you, but whatever Patrick Rothfuss writes, I inhale, listen to, breath again and listen to again. He has a way of writing that is lovely. What did I like best? I liked learning more about Auri. Period. I loved her making soap.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Auri was the only character. Who could want anything more? Unless it is the last book of the trilogy.
Which scene was your favorite?
I am a person who loved to make anything from scratch. I card my wool, spin and either weave it or knit it....so I loved hearing about the soap making. Just an FYI, it is not as easy as Auri does it
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The whole book was moving. It made me cry, laugh, shake my head...total enjoyable. But if you don't read the first two books....it will not make much sense.
Any additional comments?
Mr. Rothfuss probably never reads these reviews...but if he does, I want to say how many hours I have listened to and enjoyed his story of Kvothe. I am going to get the book Rogues, where he writes about Bast. Thank you for being such a talented writer...

Love the Story, BUT
Revisado: 10-15-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have another rendition of Cousin Kate and it is narrated 100% better. This narrator makes Kate sound insipid. Kate is not insipid. I listen to the other rendition as I go to sleep and Kate is a lady...in this one she is a wimp. I should have listened to the whole sample. I would not recommend this rendition. I am sure the public library has this book, to be rented out. Phyllida Nash is the best in my opinion.
What other book might you compare Cousin Kate to and why?
Georgette Heyer's women are such strong, non namby pamby women. I have collected her books over the years and love them all. The Grand Sophy is a talented woman, no nonsense. Venetia, Faro's Daughter...OK all her books.
How could the performance have been better?
Sarah is too rough sounding...no class, and Sarah as a Ladies maid would not have talked that way. I am only 1 hour into the book, maybe I will get use to the voice. Fingers on the chalk on the chalk board this far.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Look before you leap.
Any additional comments?
I hope they are not made into movies. My imagination is much better.

Great Story
Revisado: 07-15-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book, it doesn't have unnecessary sex scenes. I don't have to delete in my mind swear words. My grandchildren would love it, and I wouldn't be embarrassed to have recommended it.
What other book might you compare Steelheart to and why?
I love the Mistborn series. OK, I love how Brandon Sanderson writes.
What does Macleod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He really sounds like the character that he is speaking for.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I was taking a trip YES!, But, I can't just sit and listen when I am at home...the phone rings, I have appointments. I really would like to just listen though.
Any additional comments?
Really worth buying.

"O"
Revisado: 09-04-11
What happened to the wonderful reader Mary Peifer? Sounds horrible! Sounds like a guy trying to sound like a woman. I bought all of Grafton's alphabet books and spent the summer listening to her books. If I had paid attention to the change of the narrator, I could have save $20 plus a book, so that adds up to $$$.
I would love the book, if I didn't have to listen to this woman!!!!

Good book
Revisado: 10-23-10
I think that Georgette Heyer's books are great. I am never embarrassed by bad language, the haphazard usage of the 4 letter words. If they can't find a substitute don't write. These books are a joy to listen to.
