Clear, Faithful Biblical Explanation
- De Andrew Webber en 07-08-15
Kind, thoughtful, and biblical.
Revisado: 02-12-25
DeYoung has written a book sets forth in a kind and clear way all the biblical data on the topic of homosexuality. He does not write with an ax to grind or political edge. He writes with the sincere and pastoral aim to persuade others about what Christians have believed the Bible says for millenia. Additionally, DeYoung's comments in appendix 1 have been proven true by the passage of time. This is a worthwhile read, and merits the most sincere attention of faithful Christians.

Historia
There is much at stake in God making humanity male and female. Created for one another yet distinct from each other, a man and a woman are not interchangeable — they are designed to function according to a divine fittedness. But when this design is misunderstood, ignored, or abused, there are dire consequences.

Historia
Best known for its interpersonal, emotionally raw, and pastorally distressed tone, 2 Corinthians is one of Paul’s most distinctive epistles. In this letter to his complicated church in Corinth, Paul aims to expand on the deeply paradoxical nature of the Christian life. The importance of understanding this key doctrine makes 2 Corinthians an ideal study for believers today. In this volume of the New Testament Theology series, bestselling author Dane Ortlund explores 2 Corinthians to reveal the core arguments presented by Paul.

Ortlund, who wrote a ThM thesis on Paul's Theology of Paradox in 2 Corinthians (Covenant Theological Seminary) and an expository commentary on 2 Corinthians (ESVEC), delivers an insightful theology of 2 Corinthians. Chapters 1 and 7 are worth the cost of the book. Will continue to chew on many observations.

Historia
Modern women - who use psychotherapeutic antidepressants at a rate never before seen in history - need liberating now more than ever. The truth is, feminists don't know what liberation is. They have led us into a very boring dead end. Once those fictionalized stereotypes are out of the way - whether they're things that make you gag or things you think look pretty fun - Christians can focus on real women. What did God make real women for?

Biblical Truth Put Pithily
Revisado: 05-15-24
We live in a culture where a supreme court justice recuses herself from defining what a woman is. And, while it is common for discussions around Biblical womanhood to be negative (defining what women may not do), Merkle helpfully and clearly presents a positive and constructive case for biblical womanhood. The result is delightful. Take and read.

Essential Truth for Healthy Marriage
Revisado: 05-03-24
Rob Green is a godly man, with decades of counseling experience, pastoral practice, and biblical study. This book distills a solid path toward beginning marriage on the right—Christ-centered—foot. The book is great!
The audio book reader left some to be desired. While he varied his tone for biblical citations, theat tone was often "breathless" or "airy" in a manner discordant with the passages being read. This is why I've given the performance four stars.

Historia
How can Christian men and women live faithfully in a world confused over sexuality and gender? Surely we must be reminded of what Scripture teaches. Yet as God’s design for sexuality is being suppressed and denied in the modern world, we need to hear it articulated in a fresh and accessible way. God’s Good Design presents the historic, biblical view of sexuality in a manner that is appealing even to those who have been conditioned to believe it is scary or oppressive.

Historia
Prayer is as necessary to the Christian as breathing is to the human body - but it often doesn't come quite as naturally. In fact, prayer in the church often gets subtly pushed to the side in favor of pragmatic practices that promise tangible results. This book focuses on the necessity of regular prayer as a central practice in the local church - awakening us to the need and blessing of corporate prayer by examining what Jesus taught about prayer, how the first Christians approached prayer, and how to prioritize prayer in our congregations.

In this book, best-selling author and speaker Nancy Guthrie shows how Revelation is less about when Jesus will return and more about who we are to be, what we are to do, and what we can expect to endure as we wait for Jesus to return to establish his kingdom in the new creation.

Historia
For centuries, skeptics have disputed the claims of Christianity—such as belief in an eternal God and the resurrection of Jesus Christ—arguing that they simply cannot be accepted by reasonable individuals. Furthermore, efforts to demonstrate the evidence and rational basis for Christianity through apologetics are often deemed too simplistic to be taken seriously in intellectual circles. Apologist and theoretical chemist Neil Shenvi engages some of the best contemporary arguments against Christianity.
