Historia
When Tyndal and Rondal, journeymen wizards and knights errant, travel to southern Alshar to rescue a helpless boy and his mother, it sets in motion a series of events that will shake the foundations of the Five Duchies! While they are beginning their quest against the vast criminal gang known as the Brotherhood of the Rat, the two knights encounter the Cats of Enultramar, a family of shadowmagi and high-class thieves who help them discover a plot to attack the rich lands and prosperous people of Alshar, from the Wilderlands to the Great Bay...and only Rondal and Tyndal can stop them.

I think my favorite so far
Revisado: 04-26-25
Excellent back or side story. As most series books go this one can also be a standalone story but I would recommend going back to book 7 ENCHANTER first as a lot happened there and 8&9 here are relevant to the series and where I think he’s heading. New and old characters come to the story and I like them. Tyndall and Rondall are 2 of my favorites and this book centers on them and there’s always action involved. It moves fast and is exciting and sometimes funny. There’s a bonus at the end. THE SPELLMONGERS YULE. I highly recommend listening to it as it explains a lot of the past early history of how humans got there and the dangers we are facing
Narration is good and kept me on the edge of my seat and couldn’t put it down

Bad accent for different characters
Revisado: 04-26-25
Story line was kind of tired and old “Terminator “ ish Flaws in logistical issues with deployment of enemy AI droids. Driving and rolling half way around the world in a couple of days. Not much imagination here. Narration was bad accents

Historia
With the south in full rebellion, the goblins stirring on the northern frontier, and the summer capital being run by a corrupt baron and a gang of thugs, things could be better. But those aren’t the worst of her problems: Pentandra is learning how to live with her new husband, Arborn, while the town is driven to distraction by an incarnate sex goddess who is organizing all of the whores, a mopey spellmonger, a nun addicted to gambling, a prude sent by the queen, undead skulking through the shadows, and a mysterious blind girl shows up in her office claiming to be her new apprentice.

Penny’s story
Revisado: 04-16-25
Narration is good (still trying to get used to the dramatic pauses) but the range and different characters are excellent. World or Dutchy building gets kind of boring, to much politics. Good character development for Penny and her family and the way she deals with problems. As with the other stories it’s very engaging and easy to follow. Nice twists and turns towards the end

Spell craft sex and world building
Revisado: 03-26-25
Incredible imagination making science of crafting spells and enchanting items. A little slow at times with all the mental processes of doing magic, then some sex. Building the world and domains, setting up a kingdom and protecting it, then some more sex Did I mention sex? It’s not the awkward sex magic from the 1st book but done better. A whole chapter on Ishi’s Tits, not that I mind of course (reminds me of my college days and a wonderful time with big puppies and a squirt bottle of baby oil). Sorry this isn’t Penthouse Forum. It all comes together with good fight scenes and a worthy cause to deal with bad characters that need to be put in their place. Being hooked on the series now I think this is one of my favorites if not the most. Exciting but twists and turns and a dark side. I already have the next one

Historia
What does the most powerful wizard in the world do after the war? Despite the hordes of goblins still ready to ravage human lands, King Rard has signed a treaty with them, so Minalan is forbidden from taking advantage of their weak state. Most would take a well-deserved rest over the summer…but Minalan and his household are busy repaying a favor owed to the tribal Kasari for their help in the war, and the Spellmonger pays his debts. So Minalan spends his summer sneaking 2,000 Kasari children through enemy lines and some of the roughest territory in the Five Duchies toward salvation.

Side stories for bigger picture
Revisado: 03-07-25
It’s been a while so some catching up with the story is in order. Should have listened to last book again for a refresher but it came together and clicked eventually with this one not being centered on Will but his supporting characters and their development More. If you didn’t catch the last series there’s a couple of characters from that world that make an appearance. Pleasantly surprising. This one is not as sexually explicit and disturbing as the last one but has really good action and moves well
Looking forward to the next development

Historia
Things were starting to look up for Magelord Minalan the Spellmonger: The magic mountain in his domain not only made him a wealthy man and the most powerful mage in history, it also produced a lode of magical gemstones with unique properties - properties the Alka Alon, the masters of magic on Callidore, are fascinated by. When Minalan gets his chance to trade some of his magic rocks for irionite, he finds himself in a position to raise hundreds more magi with the stones...making them High Magi.

High mage building
Revisado: 12-09-24
Building an army of high mages and handing out the stones can be difficult decision as some people can’t handle the power Good people generally do good things and bad people go the other way. It reminds me of lottery winners. You hear about the bad stories but most are good ones A little slower to get to the action here but the imagination and writing are excellent

Historia
Opposites attack! When the Magelord Minalan the Spellmonger’s two apprentices, Tyndal and Rondal, were knighted after the battle of Timberwatch, they were dubbed Knights Magi: A new class of nobility for distinguished High Magi. Designed to combine the pursuit of arcane knowledge with the noble aspirations of chivalry, it elevated them above common warmage...in theory. The problem was they had no idea how to be a Knight Mage...because no one had ever been one before.

Teen agers coming of age
Revisado: 11-12-24
Good spinoff from the Spellmonger. The 2 apprentice come of age with their powers and much philosophy about love and relationships (I’m glad I’m not young and have to endure those emotions again). A little slow and tedious as they work through the rifts between them but good action towards the end. Easy to follow. I’m getting more used to the narrator’s halting pauses for dramatic effect on his delivery. That’s the only reason for 4 stars Writing is excellent and imaginative

Historia
Minalan gets medieval! When you defeat the invading goblin army, get knighted on the field of battle, gifted with lands and gold, usually your happily-ever-after is...happy. But now that Minalan the Spellmonger has been ennobled and enfiefed, Sire Minalan has a task cut out for him that makes defeating goblins seem like child’s play: Moving his very pregnant bride and a few thousand refugees from Boval Vale into the remote, sparsely peopled Domain of Sevendor. But when he arrives, he finds the land withered from neglect, filled with superstition and suspicion.

Magelord estate building then some fighting
Revisado: 11-04-24
Just rewards for his service he picked out his new home and this story tells what it takes to rebuild a neglected castle and lands Not much action in the first 3/4 of this story but the author actually makes it interesting. Good imagination and story telling and strong magical content. Well written and the narrator style and delivery is growing on me or at least I’m more interested in the story to care about the halting dramatic pauses for effect
