Historia
Rife with the indulgent pleasures of life among New York’s one-percenters, Pineapple Street is a smart, escapist novel that sparkles with wit. Full of recognizable, loveable—if fallible—characters, it’s about the peculiar unknowability of someone else’s family, the miles between the haves and have-nots, and the insanity of first love—all wrapped in a story that is a sheer delight.

Interesting, funny, overall fabulous read
Revisado: 12-20-23
I listened to this on vacation, and I would say it is the perfect beach book, light and interesting with rich, full developed characters and well written plot. I was not bored one time, and never fast forwarded through it or sped it up. This book was an excellent read.

The most honest book I have ever read
Revisado: 07-19-23
Matthew Perry did not have to write this book. He does not need the money or the fame. I truly believe he did it to help people not go down the same rabbit holes he has been down time and again. My heart went out to him as I read this book. He has been through so much, both high and low, and the biggest challenge of his life has been staying off narcotics. He writes honestly about all of his pain, both physically and mentally. I appreciated this book so much. He shares what it is really like to have a terrible addiction that is trying to kill you. At times, it is hard to read, but I will never forget it. Thank you, Matthew Perry, for writing this book. I truly think that sharing your struggles with others is your biggest accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself for powering through.

Fun, interesting and worth a credit!
Revisado: 02-20-23
I so enjoyed listening to this collection of essays. They are like a collection of mini books, and I love being able to finish an entire story while driving or doing something else. The author is so fascinating and she shares her life in a real way, and I felt like I was listening to a close friend who is a wonderful story teller.

Excellent, funny, motivated me to clean!
Revisado: 02-20-23
Worth the credit. The author has a non-judgmental, human tone and the book is funny, interesting and the ultimate book to listen to while you clean. She talks a lot about downsizing, and we will be doing this in about 5 years and I wanted to get a jump on cleaning out my closets and my unfinished basement. This book really helps to shift your mindset about holding on to things for family members and things that you are never going to use or want. I loved it! This is the best de-clluttering book I have found so far, and I have read several of them.

From the number one New York Times best-selling author of The Midnight Library Matt Haig comes a new uplifting book, for anyone in search of hope, looking for a path to a more meaningful life, or in need of a little encouragement. The Comfort Book is Haig’s life raft: It’s a collection of notes, lists, and stories written over a span of several years that originally served as gentle reminders to Haig’s future self that things are not always as dark as they may seem.

Basically, a journal from a brilliant person!
Revisado: 07-06-22
Life changing, wonderful book! It's not a typical story or self help book. It is like finding a journal of a brilliant mind with random notes on life, the universe, and everything, but not just notes and lists--inspiring stories and great advice too. I found myself stopping and writing things down and looking things up constantly. It is not organized, but that is one of the things I love about it. It is as messy as life itself. I have had many years of helpful therapy, and this book was like all of the nuggets and wisdom and insights I have gained on life in every chapter. For me, it is priceless. I also ordered a paper copy. Thank you to the author for sharing it.

Historia
Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Her gran used to interpret the world for her, codifying it into simple rules that Molly could live by. Since Gran died a few months ago, twenty-five-year-old Molly has been navigating life’s complexities all by herself. No matter—she throws herself with gusto into her work as a hotel maid. Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job.

Clever mystery with Aspie character
Revisado: 06-27-22
The main character probably has autism, although they never say it. She is uber intelligent and socially awkward. She follows the rules until she doesn't. Really fun mystery, sort of a female Columbo in her own way. I did not see the end of this one coming, and I really enjoyed listening to it from the start. Lots of twists and turns and I love that the heroine is someone that everyone underestimates, but she is the most observant and surprising witness of all. This book made me happy that I have always tipped hotel maids well.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

The best book I have read this year! Well done!
Revisado: 06-27-22
This is not a genre that I would EVER have picked for myself, but I read it for book club, and I want to read more books by this author. I binge listened to this one. The narration is excellent, and the book really makes you think about life and choices and regrets and hopes. The characters are multi-dimensional, and even though it jumps back and forth a lot, it was well written and easy to follow. I found myself pausing and writing down some nuggets of wisdom from Mrs. Elm, and I found the main character likable and human. Of course, this theme has been done before, but this was so well executed, I found it riveting. It reminded me of a much expanded version of "Sliding Doors".

Her successes are phenomenal—she helps people overcome everything from domineering parents to assault—and almost absorbs the emptiness she sometimes feels since her husband’s death. Marissa and Mathew Bishop seem like the golden couple—until Marissa cheats. She wants to repair things, both because she loves her husband and for the sake of their eight-year-old son. After a friend forwards an article about Avery, Marissa takes a chance on this maverick therapist.

Revisado: 06-27-22
Loved this book, and binge listened to the whole thing. The narrator was good and even did convincing different character voices. It was easy to follow and a really good mystery. Lots of twists and turns. Also, I love the idea of an off the rails therapist who can "cure" her patients in 10 sessions!

Revisado: 12-28-21
I enjoyed every minute of this hilarious, witty, smart book. The narration was easy to follow, and I listened to it in about 3 days. I have now read everything by Helen Ellis, and I hope she writes more soon. These books are so clever and the perfect audiobook to listen to to lift your mood. This woman is funny! I am southern and listening to this was like having a girl's day out with a good friend.

I’m missing out on my life. What’s wrong with me? If that’s ever crossed your mind, and if you know there’s more to life than what you’ve been living, this audiobook is for you. It sucks to acknowledge that you are what’s keeping you from the life you want. You sacrifice what you want most for what you want in the moment. You know everything you’re supposed to do, and yet you feel stuck - limited by your past, overwhelmed by your future - in a purgatory of your own behavior.

Such a rich book! Helped me change my life!
Revisado: 08-23-20
This book is the only book I have listened to twice and taken notes on because it is so packed full of useful insights and knowledge about how to lose weight and how to live a better life and to think differently to transform your life. This stuff really works, and there are many things and concepts that I have never heard of before, and I have read LOTS of diet books. I have lost a lot of weight and still have a small amount to lose to get to my goal weight, and this time is different because I feel like I have figured it out. It worked because I actually applied the concepts. Weight loss and stopping overeating is simple, even though my brain did not want to believe it, it is true. It is different in a good way from any other book I have ever read on self help or weight loss. The author has actually been overweight and kept it off, so she knows what she is writing about.
