Historia
The shocking and subversive memoir of a 12-year-NXIVM-member-turned-whistleblower, and her inspiring true story of abuse, escape, and redemption. "Master, would you brand me? It would be an honor." Scarred follows actress Sarah Edmondson's account of her recruitment into the NXIVM cult, founded by Keith Raniere. It narrates in detail the 12 years she spent within the organization, during which she enrolled over 2,000 members, chronicling her breaking point and her harrowing fight to get out, help others, and heal.

Historia
Following the breakdown of her marriage, Theo has bought a tumbledown cottage on the banks of the river Tamar which divides Cornwall and Devon. The peace and tranquillity of Boatman’s Cottage, nestled by the water, is just what she needs to heal. Yet soon after her arrival, Theo discovers a stash of hidden letters tied with a ribbon, untouched for more than a century. The letters—sent from the battlefields of France during WWI—tell of a young servant from the nearby manor house, Abbotswood, and his love for a woman he was destined to lose.

Wonderful Narration
Revisado: 07-19-22
As a child, I used to rewatch scenes of Lucy Scott playing Charlotte Lucas in the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice because I loved her voice. I downloaded this book for a cross-country flight and was shocked to hear Charlotte Lucas narrating! I had no idea Lucy Scott narrated books! I will be listening to many more!

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Totally Immersive Read!
Revisado: 10-17-21
I found myself thinking about this book in the hours when I wasn't listening to it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel like I need to go back and listen to it again to fully appreciate all of the little details that I missed along the way. Incredible storytelling.

Sound Quality is the Worst of the Series
Revisado: 06-26-20
I listened to all three audiobooks in this series, and the sound quality of the third audiobook (this book) is noticeable worse than the previous two (which sounded flawless). This book sounds like it was recorded in an echo-y bathroom. That said, the man who read all three books is fantastic and helps you forget the poorer quality!
