Historia
Ingrid Bettancourt tells the story of her captivity in the Colombian jungle, sharing powerful teachings of resilience, resistance, and faith. At the age of 32, she gave up a life of comfort and safety to return to Colombia to become a political leader in a country that was being slowly destroyed by terrorism, violence, fear. In 2002, while campaigning as a candidate in the Colombian presidential elections, she was abducted by the FARC. Nothing could have prepared her for what came next....

Her haughtiness probably helped her to survive.
Revisado: 09-19-24
It was well performed. I like to read survival stories.
There are two sides to every story. I’d like to hear what her fellow prisoners have to say.

Quite disappointed
Revisado: 10-19-23
When the original book came out I LOVED it. Now that I wanted my grandchildren to glean the pearls of wisdom I bought this audible version and discovered that it’s not the same. The emphasis in THIS version is all about her career, and, to my disappointment, the pearls of wisdom that I remembered from the original book are scarcely touched on.

Historia
Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was.

I’m a grandma
Revisado: 08-11-18
This book was, for me, a waste of time. The author just wrote stories of his life. In no way did this offer any guidance, insight, new ideas or even a tidbit of anything helpful in my own life..... it’s always interesting to hear people’s stories, but rather boring.... possibly because my own life has been more exciting. Perhaps young people learn something from the stories from an old, melancholic man.

I am a hoarder
Revisado: 08-24-11
I am a 74 year old hoarder, have watched the TV show and read a lot of books about hoarding, but THIS book is the first book that has really explored what is going on inside the heads of hoarders. It is not a "fix it" or a "quick solution" book, but rather it is an in depth study of how we are wired differently from other people. I highly recommend this book above all others for hoarders and anyone who wants to understand them. I am optimistic that understanding how my brain works will help me make my house more functional so that I can enjoy the pleasures that I had hoped I would have in it when I bought it.
