Most prolific killer in US history!
Revisado: 02-14-22
This guy was responsible for a worse trail of death than anyone...Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc. Those guys were all terrible, but this guy is arguably worse... especially as far as staying hidden for so long, and the sheer numbers attributed to him.
This book covers the discovery of every victim attributed to Gary Ridgeway, who liked to murder prostitutes (mostly) by manually strangling them or using clothing like socks, pants, etc. He was also a rapist and necrophiliac (no surprise there.)
Unlike some other killers who perhaps inflated their numbers for notoriety during confessions, this SOB really did everything he was convicted of, and almost certainly more. 50+ women and girls died at his hands, and he truly was a monster. Henry Lee Lucas lied and acted like a bigger monster, Israel Keyes did as well, but quiet little Ridgeway didn't have to embellish anything to make history. 100% real monster.
As you listen to the book, you will find yourself rooting against him, sharing in the frustration felt by his community so many years ago. You'll root for (and sympathize with) those tasked with finding him. They had to create an entire task force to deal with the carnage he alone was commiting.
Any fans of true crime, and behavioral science will be captivated.
The police were so desperate to find him, they even interviewed Ted Bundy for his assessment on the killings, which is saying a lot, because he was an evil bastard himself.
I consider this to be 1 of the top 5 true crime books about serial killers, it's up there with "A Stranger Beside Me," as good or better than "Helter Skelter," and just as insane as "The Night Stalker."
Warning: this book is long, but honestly so was his reign of terror.

Historia
At home, Richard Kuklinski was a dedicated suburban family man; on the street, he was the Iceman, a professional hit man and lethal scam artist, a man so heartless he kept one of his victims frozen for over two years to disguise the time of death. His personal body count was over 100, but the police couldn’t touch him. Then undercover agent Dominick Polifrone posed as a mobster and began a deadly game of cat and mouse. The Iceman chronicles Kuklinski’s grisly career and exposes his murderous double life.

Creepy, Violent, Captivating!
Revisado: 02-10-22
I listened to this entire thing in two sessions, while off work.
The performance of the narrator really sells this one, he actually does a good impression of Richard K as I've heard him in interviews over the years. When he speaks as "the Iceman" he is very soft spoken, creepy and ominous...great job!!
I feel like some people who are really into true crime are only interested in serial killers who have a sexual motivation, but Richard was just a hitman. He never was motivated by sex, and was seemingly happily married. He was, however, angry and methodical, and in some instances he killed people just for experimental purposes.
very dark, very interesting, give it a try!

In one of the most compelling combat narratives ever written, Staff Sergeant David Bellavia, an Army infantry platoon leader in Iraq, gives a teeth-rattling, first-hand account of 11 straight days of heavy house-to-house fighting during the climactic second battle of Fallujah. His actions in the firefight, which included killing five insurgents in hand-to-hand combat, earned Bellavia the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, and New York state's highest military honor, the Conspicuous Service Cross.

Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

Historia
Colin Quinn has noticed a trend during his decades on the road - that Americans' increasing political correctness and sensitivity have forced us to tiptoe around the subjects of race and ethnicity altogether. Colin wants to know: What are we all so afraid of? Every ethnic group has differences, everyone brings something different to the table, and this diversity should be celebrated, not denied. So why has acknowledging these cultural differences become so taboo?

From the outrageously filthy and oddly innocent comedienne and star of the powerful 2015 film I Smile Back Sarah Silverman comes a memoir—her first book—that is at once shockingly personal, surprisingly poignant, and still pee-in-your-pants funny. If you like Sarah's television show The Sarah Silverman Program, or memoirs such as Chelsea Handler's Are You There Vodka? Everything we now know about the universe - from the behavior of quarks to the birth of galaxies - has come from people who've been willing to ponder the unanswerable. And with the advent of modern science, great minds have turned to testing and experimentation rather than mere thought as a way of grappling with some of the universe's most vexing dilemmas. So what is our latest picture of some of the most inexplicable features of the universe? What still remains to be uncovered and explored by today's scientists?
