No Bueno
Revisado: 03-25-08
My opinion is simple... Steven King's well has run dry. I can not help but be bewildered by all the 5 star reviews exclaiming ?Steven King Is Back!? I just don't get it. The book feels like someone just passing the time. Page after page of babble. It ends like a cheap hollywood movie script. I love Mr. Kings work in generall, but I feel very strongly that since the Gunslingers quest came to an end, so did Mr King's greatness. Sorry brother, i still think you rock though. Actually i think you are one of the greatest writers of our time, just not latley.

Welcome to another kind of terror as Peter Straub leads us into the outer reaches of the psyche. Here the master of the macabre is at his absolute best in seven exquisite tales of living, dying, and the terror that lies in between.

I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but I have some intelligence. That being said I found myself wondering what the stories were about. I just didn't get it. Each one seemed to go on forever with no real begining or end. I enjoyed the last story a bit but that was it.

Historia
The cause of the devastation is a phenomenon that will come to be known as The Pulse, and the delivery method is a cell phone. Everyone's cell phone. Clay and the few desperate survivors who join him suddenly find themselves in the pitch-black night of civilization's darkest age, surrounded by chaos, carnage, and a human horde that has been reduced to its basest nature...and then begins to evolve.

As an avid King junkie I can respectfully say this book sucked. Started off in classic King storytelling and then just plain died. If you love S. King don't buy this book, it's just not happening.
