ada hart is an interior designer that’s looking to make some big life changes. the first step on this path is taking a job on rebel blue ranch to get her kickstarted into something great. she goes to the bar & meets a handsome cowboy, whom there are instant sparks with. but the next morning, she’s not as excited about him when she realizes that this handsome cowboy is her new boss, weston ryder

ada & wes were sooo cute together. i love how obsessed he was with her. he fell first & he fell HARD. it seems like all of the rebel blue ranch men are simps & i love it so so so much 🤭

ada’s anxiety was extremely well written. i love how her thought processes were written out - it felt realistic. i love that lyla sage includes these representations of disabilities/disorders in her books. i felt seen through both emmy (adhd) & ada (anxiety). wes was so patient with her & didn’t get frustrated with her at all. he did what he could to help her process her anxiety & feel secure. asking again - where can we find rebel blue ranch men irl?? 👀

ada is amazing at her job & her attention to detail 🤌🏽 adding the touch of roses to the house to preserve the memory of their mom, stella, was sooo sweet & thoughtful. and when wes realized that’s where they were from, it was such a fulfilling feeling. and it comes full circle with her own rose tattoos on her shoulder 🥀

the fact that i have to wait until november for lost & lassooed? i’m sick 😮‍💨

patrick’s life is flipped upside down when his best friend/sister in law dies. he has no time to process this loss, because he quickly has to become the guardian of his niece & nephew, while his brother goes to rehab

gup (gay uncle patrick) is a single, 43 year old former actor. he’s never had children, so he’s a little underprepared to suddenly be caring for two children. but he takes maisie & grant in under his wing and they all learn some new things

this book was sooo heartwarmingly cute. i love the relationship that developed between gup, maisie, and grant. it was a rockyish unorthodox start, but everything & everyone turned out okay! i absolutely hated clara & i’m so glad that gup stood up to her. it’s also important to remember that gup never had kids, he’s still processing the loss of the love of his life & his sister in law, and this was all sprung on him with no notice! i think he did an amazing job at taking care of maisie & grant. he just had to find his footing, so to speak

grief was a huge theme in this book and it was written so beautifully. chapter 19 & 20, where gup really talked about joe and everything that happened during his last few days were so heartbreaking. i hate that joe’s family treated him that way & weren’t accepting. he loved joe just as much, if not MORE than they did. i also enjoyed that gup helping maisie and grant with the loss of their mom also helped him to heal a little bit and focus on better ways to cope & live his life after losing joe

i listened to the audiobook for this one & i didn’t know that it was narrated by steven rowley, the author, until i went to listen. i absolutely loved this! he did an amazing job & i love that all of the emotions he wanted conveyed through his book were able to be done with such accuracy through the audiobook. since he narrated it himself. i highly suggest the audiobook for the guncle, if you decide to read it!

emmy comes home to meadowlark after a horse riding accident startles her. she runs into her brother’s best friend, luke brooks, that has essentially been part of her family since she was young. but now emmy starts to see luke in a different light. he’s the only one that she trusts to help her get through the trauma she’s still dealing with from the horse riding accident & some other things 🤭

this was my first cowboy romance & lyla sage, you left no crumbs! 🤠

i looooved this book so so so much! i loved the chemistry between emmy & luke. he was sooo caring & so considerate of emmy - luke, you’re setting the bar HIGH. and the nickname sugar?? PLEASE 🥵

i also loved emmy & teddy’s friendship. teddy definitely had me loling at some of the stuff she said and did. she’s the unhinged bestie & i’m here for it!

i also loved the strong relationship that the ryder family had & how they swooped luke under their wing early on in his life. i love a good found family relationship. i also liked that we saw emmy reflect on this & how it made sense now the way that luke has always behaved growing up & now

i immediately wanted to start swift & saddled when i finished this, but i waited about 2 weeks to buddy read it with my friend

also kicking myself for not having read a cowboy romance sooner??

daphne moves in with miles, since her ex moved his new boo in with him & miles now has an extra room. they begin to hang out. amid becoming best friends, they also begin to develop stronger feelings for each other

this book has all the f’s - forced proximity, friends to best friends to lovers, and fake dating. and although this book has a lot of f’s, it gets an a+ from me!

peter & petra deserved each other. i absolutely hated them

the writing is absolutely beautiful. i love the connection & tension between daphne & miles. their friendship blossomed beautifully. i love all of the friend dates that they went on. and it was immediately palpabale when the connection began changing from best friends to lovers

the only thing that kept this from being a 5 star for me was the miscommunication. there were a few instances that could’ve been quickly solved if they just paused & talked to each other!

the miscommunication between miles & his sister was also something i disliked. she felt like she was bothering him & keeping him from his full potential and he felt like he was letting her down, meanwhile they both were soooo grateful for each other

this was my first emily henry & i cannot wait to dive into more! i listened to the audiobook for this book & really enjoyed it

vianne & isabelle are two sisters that are trying to survive through the war. vianne is not only worried for herself and her sister, but also for her young daughter. when a nazi soldier has to move into their home, they have to learn how to navigate this new situation. isabelle is exhausted by the suffering that everyone is enduring. she vows to join the fight to combat the war in any way that she can

this book was beautifully written. most wwii books tend to focus on how the soldiers & people in the war are impacted. this book focused on that, but also focused on how the women at home were impacted as well

throughout the book, we follow along to see how vianne & isabelle take two very different approaches to surviving the war. both are met with challenges and we see how they fight for their freedom, are forced to betray friends, and how to persevere to survive

vianne & isabelle were such strong, noble people in the nightingale. isabelle’s character development was wonderful. she started off seeming like an impulsive young woman that kinda made decisions/took action before thinking. throughout the book, she developed into a meticulous, thoughtful character

historical fiction and i have an interesting relationship. they’re either a hit or miss for me. this one was amazing & i’m so glad that i read it as a part of a book club. i definitely plan to read more by kristin hannah eventually 🤩

evelyn hugo is a hollywood icon. when she contacts monique grant, a lesser known magazine reporter, monique is shocked. she can’t imagine why evelyn hugo would specifically request her

evelyn begins telling monique her life story so that the world can finally know the real evelyn hugo. most people just know that she has had seven different husbands & they are definitely judgey. but is there more to evelyn’s love life than they knew?

this will be a book that will be a forever favorite. this was such a beautifully heartbreaking story, showing how challenging & ruthless it can be for women to succeed in the hollywood industry. evelyn hugo had to do a lot of things, solely with the goal of knowing it would further her career so that she could live a more stable & successful life

some of the people that evelyn chose to be with to improve her life were so disgustingly evil. harry was my favorite of them all & deserved the world 🥹

i love that evelyn finally got her story out and i love that she chose monique to do it 🫶🏽

this book was sick & i loved it 🤣 i’m so excited that i finally read a john marrs & i’m excited to read more. i was immediately hooked & this was such a fast listen. this audiobook had multiple narrators, which made it more fun to listen to the story

i guessed some of the twists, but then they were twistier than i originally thought, so i hadn’t guessed it completely! this book was unhinged & i’m here for it. several times i was listening and just speechless at what was happening & thinking “they did WHAT NOW??” 😆

i can’t wait to read more unhinged thrillers from john marrs 🤪

i was really excited for the premise of this book, especially bc i read the mindf*ck series recently. honestly, it feels like an insult to even mention the mindf*ck series in this review

to be entirely honest, i only finished this book bc it was for a traveling book with some friends. otherwise it would’ve been a swift dnf

i knew who the killers were from chapter 3 aka when they were first introduced in the book. this book was so predictable and so PAINFULLY obvious. it was not enjoyable

i wouldn’t recommend this book to my worst enemy 😅

this book was a quick listen. i really loved donovan. jada took a while to start liking. she was pretty insufferable for the first 1/4-1/3 of the book. there was a purpose to this & this was shared later, but it was sooo annoying

i enjoyed the banter that donovan & jada had throughout the book. she was feisty & i loved that about her!

there was a little riff within the last like 30-40 minutes of the book, which was also annoying. and it kinda was just thrown in there. jada randomly was like actually i can’t do this & up and left donovan. it made the ending kinda choppy

i really liked donovan’s mom & grams (jada’s grandmother). they both were sweet and funny & i loved how they looked out for their baby, respectively. i also really liked donovan’s teammates & siblings, and ella. i plan to continue this trilogy at some point in time

i absolutely ate this book up. liz tomforde, you have laced your books with ✨magic✨ that needs to be experienced by everyone

the connection between stevie & zanders was like a fire that ignited anytime they were anywhere close to each other. the love was palpable

as an animal shelter volunteer, stevie holds an extra special spot in my heart 🥹

i loved the mental health rep shown throughout the book through stevie’s uncertainty about herself & zanders’ anxiety and panic attacks. these topics were written so beautifully & respectfully

i loved how confident zanders made stevie feel - from keeping the light on when they were together, buying an assortment of sizes so that she could find what fit her best, and to his constant affirmations. he has set the expectations incredibly high. i also loved how secure stevie made zanders feel & how she tried to comfort him through his panic attacks/prevent him from getting to that point

i loved stevie & zanders soooo much and i’ve heard that the windy city series only continues to get better. how that’s even possible, i have no clue, because this book was PERFECTION, but i’m excited to see the bar be set even higher
