Historia
Howard Storm, an avowed atheist, was awaiting emergency surgery when he realized that he was at death's door. Storm found himself out of his own body, looking down on the hospital room scene below. Next, rather than going "toward the light", he found himself being torturously dragged to excruciating realms of darkness and death, where he was physically assaulted by monstrous beings of evil. His description of his pure terror and torture is unnerving in its utter originality and convincing detail.

Why did God find it necessary to have the Israelites destroy the populations of entire cities man, woman, and child? What relation does Jesus bear to the rest of the supernatural world? Dr. Michael S. Heiser tackles these questions and many more in his books Supernatural and The Unseen Realm.

This is a MUST read!!!
Revisado: 04-26-24
For anyone that lives in fear of failing, fear of not being good enough when judgment comes, you NEED to listen or read this book. This is such a reassuring, reaffirming, and encouraging reminder of why we are here and just how much God loves us… and the absolute salvation that Jesus offers us. I will definitely be listening to this again!

Riveting and inspiring book
Revisado: 02-11-24
I could not stop listening, it was such a well told, interesting and riveting story. I felt like I knew these characters as I do my own family. There’s no sugar coating or exaggeration needed, my heart broke and tears streamed down my face many times… and my stomach felt butterflies of anticipation and excitement with the characters. I come from a childhood of addiction, trauma and desperation.
This book reads true, the rage and disgust turning to love and affection… then back again… it’s the cycle of abuse and compassion. Poor choices and the effects they have on both good and bad people… and the blurry lines of what is good and bad.

Historia
This is not a satire, but it takes a satirical approach to shedding light upon a very dark subject: narcissistic abuse. It is intended to demonstrate to those struggling with codependency just how narcissists actually view them. By listening to their "play book", codependents should be able to recognize covert abuse and avoid its pernicious effects.

No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father - with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde - with whom she shares a tragic connection - to use his unique skills to help find Naomi.

I’m an AVID reader and this is one of the BEST books I’ve ever read!!!
Revisado: 03-17-21
I’m more of a horror fan, and sometimes go into the psychological thrillers.... I’m not sure what you would call this book without giving away the ending but it’s a mystery that continues to unravel until the last minutes. It’s edge of your seat, can’t stop thinking about it till you finish kind of book. And the end is... well let’s just say it’s a surprise lol. I’m 35, I read 3+ books a week and I’m immensely impressed with this author.

Historia
In this fascinating narrative, therapist Catherine Gildiner presents five of what she calls her most heroic and memorable patients. Among them: A successful, first-generation Chinese immigrant musician suffering sexual dysfunction; a young woman whose father abandoned her at age nine with her younger siblings in an isolated cottage in the depth of winter; and a glamorous workaholic whose narcissistic, negligent mother greeted her each morning of her childhood with "Good morning, Monster". Each patient presents a mystery, one that will only be unpacked over years.

One of the Best Books I've Read
Revisado: 01-05-21
I'll be keeping this available to read many more times in the future. It's interesting, the stories are so intensely relatable and heartbreaking. I've dealt with a lot of trauma from my childhood and only more to come as an adult. It wasn't until a breakdown and therapy that I learned my life was full of trauma and not normal. my interest in psychology has been peaked and after reading this book I've decided to go back to school and hopefully help others the way I was helped to recover from a world of terror. If you are recovering, wondering about your own past or interested in the field of psychology and how strong resiliency can really be.... read this book!

Historia
There is a voice of longing inside each woman. We strive so mightily to be good: good partners, daughters, mothers, employees, and friends. We hope all this striving will make us feel alive. Instead, it leaves us feeling weary, stuck, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed. We look at our lives and wonder: Wasn’t it all supposed to be more beautiful than this? We quickly silence that question, telling ourselves to be grateful, hiding our discontent—even from ourselves.

On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

One of those books that changes you for the better
Revisado: 05-28-19
I love how it's actually her teaching students, so you get to hear her personal stories and the emotion that you could never get from a book. I never looked at vulnerability in a good way before, I always thought you DIDN'T want to be vulnerable. Definitely worth listening to and I will be recommending this book to friends and family as well. This will be something I come back to listen to over and over again throughout my life.

Riveting and humbeling
Revisado: 04-16-19
I wanted to be a therapist for quite a while and ended up seeing one for the last four years. This is exactly what I wanted to know about how my therapist might see me or if she likes me. And I can see that she had her own real problems and that doesn't mean she's a bad therapist, her problems make her a better therapist.
