Over the course of a 30-year career, Eddie Izzard has proven himself to be a creative chameleon, inhabiting the stage and film and television screens with an unbelievable fervor. Born in Yemen and raised in Ireland, Wales, and postwar England, he lost his mother at the age of six. In his teens he dropped out of university and took to the streets of London as part of a two-man escape act; when his partner went on vacation, Izzard kept busy by inventing a one-man act, and thus a career was ignited.

Better than the book-Believe me...

Whenever I heard someone utter the phrase, "Believe me" has always been a red flag to someone trying to put one over on me. Decades before #45 used it in his speeches. Eddie Izzard has reintroduced the phrase as a positive. I have been struggling with my own demons which I believe have held me back. I believed them when I should have been believing me. The audio book version of his autobiography is much more than one would expect. You are getting two books for the price of one due to his numerous asides not in the print version. He makes you feel that he is personally sharing privileged information just with you. Bravo Mr. Izzard!!! You have shown me that it is possible to complete an arduous journey; just remember to bring your flag and wear something fabulous!

Probably one of the worst biographies I am ever listen to. The author is repetitive and his notes unnecessary. There is no question that this author could have cut at least six hours from this book just by not giving the history of schizophrenia, prostitution,
