Great finish
Revisado: 02-26-21
First off, I received a free code for an audible copy of this book.
Alright, last book of the trilogy. After the first two books, going into book 3, I really thought I knew how it was going to end. Boy was I wrong, and I'm glad I was wrong! There was a lot to this final installment, and it easily held my attention throughout. I'm very glad that the author did not fall into the trap of lazy writing just to hurry up and get the series finished.
I do have one complaint though. I really wish that the epilog would have been its own chapter, and that an epilog of "A few years later, the dungeon is 30 floors deep, and Devin and Krista are still finding ways to stay alive". Or something like that.
This series has been a lot of fun, and while it may be short, I say it's definitely worth the 3 credits.

Historia
When Krista and Devin first started playing Glendaria Awakens, they had no idea that they would end up in charge of operating a dungeon. Now, after leveling up, they have a crisis on their hands. A new item, a Dungeon Core, is now the target of every guild in the game. If the Core is stolen and kept away for a length of time, they will cease to exist. Devin must find enough powerful monsters to put into the dungeon while Krista has to build the perfect floor to keep them away from their only hope of surviving.

Great book!

Let's jump right in. While I admit that book 1 took a little time to fully draw me into the story, book 2 did not have that problem! This story held my attention from beginning to end. The level of "crunch" was turned way down and much more time was spent on story and character development. There are time skips back and forth throughout the book, but as long as you are paying attention to the start of each chapter, it's easy to keep up with. The character Violet and her, ummm, personality are very well written and a lot of fun. There was a ton of dungeon and trap building, and you can really tell the author put a lot of thought and time into the design. Two of the monster names almost killed me with laughter, and I won't ruin them for you here but you'll know when you come across them. I still have a couple of issues with the narration, but if I'm being honest that's probably just me being extremely picky and setting an almost unreachable goal for most voice actors.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to start the last book in the trilogy.

Historia
Even after pre-ordering the pod that would allow them to play "Glendaria Awakens", Krista and Devin still had to wait months before they were able to experience the newest in VRMMORPG (virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game) technology. The wait was definitely worth it as they entered into a game world that was virtually indistinguishable from real life - apart from the obvious game elements of course. After starting in a typical starting town, they learned everything they needed to survive in this new world.

Good story.
Revisado: 02-22-21
I'm going to start by saying that I was given a free audible code for this book.
This first book has a lot to recommend it. The 2 main characters are fun, and grow at a good pace. Be aware, this book is VERY "crunchy". Lots of info about characters, classes, items, spells, and information. But it does help to build the small world around the MC's. It did take me awhile (almost half of the book) to get fully drawn into the story, but once I was in it was great. Very much looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd books. The narrator does a good job with really only 1 or 2 points that I wasn't a fan of. But I hold narrators to an extremely high standard, so most people will miss those details that my very picky self notices.
If I were to have a large complaint about this book, it would be that it is too short! A few extra chapters about development and the psychological ramifications of being stuck and the new life would have been very welcomed.
Overall, I recommend this book for what it is. It's light, it's fun, and there are a good number of funny bits and plays on words thrown in to round it out.

Not Bad
Revisado: 10-19-20
Alright, is this an original premise? No. Is this the best writing? No. Is the narration great? No.
But, the story is fun. The MC has all these martial arts skills that translate into the game world, and years of being a professional gamer experience that give him a bit of an overpowered feeling from the start. I admit that I do find myself liking him though. The Syndicate guild makes a good group of villains. Everyone hates newb grief, and it's fun to listen to the MC smash them repeatedly.
I've just finished book 3, and really I only have a few minor complaints. First, I've never played WoW in my life, and the constant references leave me feeling a bit cold. Second, after the first 2 or 3 times the author describes a spell, I'm pretty sure I've got it down. Having the same spell repeated over and over again (mana cost, casting time, effect, duration, etc.) really gets old. I enjoy the "crunchy" part of LitRPG's, but this is taking it too far and pulls me out of the story. Finally, I enjoy pop-culture references. They can make things relatable to a bigger audience. But again, the author takes it too far with multiple references in almost every single chapter.
The narration, as has been stated numerous times in other reviews, needs some work. It's obvious that the narrator is not a gamer, as his pronunciation of game terms is horrible. But there are other words, specifically MISSHAPEN that completely throw me out of the story. Does the narrator not have anyone proofing the work? It's MIS-SHAPEN, not MISS-HAPPEN. If your going to narrate, at least have command of the English language.
Enough of the bad though. Overall, I'd still recommend the series if you can look past these errors. It's light, it's fun, and following the MC through his Nightmare start and interaction with other characters is enjoyable enough to continue listening. I like the character development and the buildup towards making a strong guild. I'll continue to listen to the series as it comes out because I do enjoy most of it.
In conclusion, if you aren't looking for a deep story line, and you can look past some of the narration issues, I suggest giving it a try.

To the narrator.
Revisado: 03-19-19
Cameron, I'd love to meet you, and then punch you in the throat repeatedly until your arrogance could never again infect another book. Be it a feeble grasp on the English language, or an overwhelming arrogance to change what you want, your pronunciation of certain words and names leaves me grating my teeth in frustration. First off, Pol's name isn't Polgra as you say each and every time. It's Polgara. You consistently leave out the first "A". As if that and the other mispronunciations weren't enough, what in the name of God inspired you to make Mandorallen French?! When most people think of the French during a similar period, they imagine The Three Musketeers. Mandorallen and the rest of the knights should have been done as English, you twit. I freely give my consent to Amazon\Audible for them to give you my contact email so that you can explain yourself, and so that I may taunt you a second time.
