Not up to usual standard
Revisado: 08-16-24
Story drug on and on. More about the personal demons of the Stride couple than the actual story line. Became so tiresome, I couldn’t finish. Rarely do I return an audio book, but this one goes back.

Finally an excellent “Patterson” lent name book!
Revisado: 04-17-24
Many of the books released in past years with Patterson as a co-author were clearly not written with much, if any input from Patterson. I don’t know if Nancy Allen wrote most of this book , or all of it, but it’s a winner! Interesting plot, great narration ( so glad narrator didn’t use a phony, syrupy Mississippi accent🥖), and a surprise ending. One note, ending was somewhat spoiled by another reviewer who revealed they figured out whodunit, and proceeded to give the name. Shame on them!

Historia
Laura Lippman has claimed all the major prizes in mystery writing and is a New York Times best-selling author. In this seventh novel from Lippman's acclaimed series, Baltimore investigator Tess Monaghan has her hands full with five murder cases that have gone cold. Each has a domestic violence angle, and the cases also share a disturbing connection - one that points to Tess herself.

Always entertaining and suspenseful

Lippman does it again! The atmosphere of the book takes you to Baltimore and to the Maryland shore as though you are there .
The silky voice of Barbara Rosenblat, and her ability to make you feel all the emotions of the characters are the delicious icing on the cake.

Historia
Jonathan Stride’s best friend, Steve Garske, makes a shocking deathbed confession: He protected Stride by covering up a murder. Hours later, the police dig up Steve’s yard and find a body with a bullet hole in its skull. Stride is pretty sure he knows who it is. Seven years ago, an out-of-town reporter disappeared while investigating anonymous allegations of rape against a prominent politician. Back then, the police believed that the reporter drowned at a dangerous swimming hole called the Deeps...but the discovery of the body changes everything.

Another Freeman success

Up to the author’s standards, with the usual twist at the end. I really saw no hint of what was to come, which is unusual. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
