The truth is still out there. The iconic hit that had millions searching for UFOs back in the 90s is now an exhilarating audio event, only from Audible. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunite as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, joining an ensemble of original cast members in an out-of-this-world production.

Yup, It's the X-Files
Revisado: 10-13-18
I often wondered why I did not watch this series on television. I had seen one or two episodes though.
This rendition reminded me why. Totally unbelievable, intended to create fright. fails miserably.

Historia
One hundred years from now, and against all the odds, Earth has found a new stability; the political order has reached some sort of balance, and the new colony on Mars is growing. But the fraught years of the 21st century have left an uneasy legacy.... Genetically engineered alpha males designed to fight the century's wars have no wars to fight and are surplus to requirements. And a man bred and designed to fight is a dangerous man to have around in peacetime....

Cheap sex interupted by a poor story
Revisado: 03-25-18
What was most disappointing about Richard Morgan’s story?
This story would be better in a print version for a teenager looking for masturbation material.

Historia
Ralph Elllison's Invisible Man is a monumental novel, one that can well be called an epic of modern American Negro life. It is a strange story, in which many extraordinary things happen, some of them shocking and brutal, some of them pitiful and touching—yet always with elements of comedy and irony and burlesque that appear in unexpected places. It is a book that has a great deal to say and which is destined to have a great deal said about it.

Welcome to the pulpit
Revisado: 01-14-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Perhaps a different narrator.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I am deeply disappointed with this book. It might be a better read in written format, but it felt as if I were in church getting a talking to from the pulpit.

We colonized 700 planets. Humankind enjoyed the benefits of expansion room and the end of wars. We even disbanded our military. Then the Krall found us. The Krall have used thousands of years of combat to select the genes of the strongest and fastest warriors. They are a species determined to dominate the entire galaxy, through destruction and annihilation of every opponent.
Koban is an uninhabited high-gravity planet with impossibly fast savage animals, which employ organic superconducting nerves. This deadly world is where the Krall tested humans for war capability.

However
Revisado: 08-01-16
What made the experience of listening to Koban, Book 1 the most enjoyable?
The general story outline is interesting. Looking deeply, I can see many parallels to today's world.
Any additional comments?
The author of this book needs to re-evaluate his use of the word "however". This word is used many times in place of punctuation, or more appropriate words.
I wonder if it was not included just to increase the word count for the publisher. A good editor would not have allowed this to pass.

Can't follow this story
Revisado: 08-25-14
What did you like best about Leviathan Wakes? What did you like least?
Mind numbing.
Would you be willing to try another book from James S.A. Corey? Why or why not?
I might listen to another book, but it would have to be with someone who can read well. This narrator should have the middle name of Monotony.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I am unable to follow the story, mainly because this narrator is just plain monotonous. Long minute have passed while listening to this book as I find that I have "zoned out".
I am halfway through the second section of this book and don't know what happened. I am not sure I will even try to finish it, or if I should start over.
I think that the written book might be better than this audio version

Revisado: 06-10-13
What was most disappointing about Don Brown’s story?
The premise of the story is great. The presentation of the story is strictly "America is Best".
Any additional comments?
Sad to report that this novel could have been much better had the story line been less Pro American, and been more Pro Humanity.

Monotony in the extreme
Revisado: 01-23-11
While I am sure that this is a very well written novel, I am having a great deal of difficulty with it in the audio version.
The voice changes between characters is somewhat confused, with imitation accents being the main difference. Sometimes though, the accents used are inappropriate for the particular character.
It is difficult to follow the reading here. Whether this is due to my hearing loss in specific frequencies, or just the continual drone of the reader, I am not sure.
Do listen to the audio clip before downloading this book. I think it might be better in written form.

While the additional information of this space is greatly appreciated, Scott Brick is becoming tired with the series. His voice is wearing out, and he appears to have lost interest.

Still chewing through this one.
Revisado: 05-28-09
Sorry folks. I find this book extremely hard to listen to. The author takes a lot of time developing characters to the detriment of the story.
This could have been reduced in length to about 100 pages. Perhaps an abridged version would be better.
This is definitely a "chick flick" and a review of the sample audio should be in order before buying.

I found this to be a boring monotonologue. I managed 3 hours before I had to turn to something that had some action to it.
This appears to be a number of biographies rolled into a "novel". Unfortunately, it reads more like a funeral announcement.
