Disappointing

Not a typical Craig Johnson, Longmire book. He usually writes a tight story around his small town, county, Wyoming and the Big Horns area that includes familiar people, places, time period, events, etc. This book feels like he just threw everything, including the kitchen sink into those categories and for what reason, I can't figure out. I got tired of trying to remember who everyone was. I look forward to him going back to his normal style in the next book George Guidall was great as usual.

Sounds like a MAGA rant

Carr is obviously one of Trump's MAGA jerks. With so much of this political junk on the news, I don't understand why writers now have to make these politics the center of novels. I have read (listened to) Carr's past novels, but not anymore. This was so political, they should have it solely in the POLITICS cartegory.

Not typical Longmire.

I've read all of the Longmire books and I won't even finish this one. It is just too weird and off in space for me. I'm not interested in so much supernatural. I liked the old Longmire books. Hated to not finish a George Guildall book, though.

I'm an agitator and want to cry about it

My overall opinion about this book is it is a self serving justification for Acosta to be an agitator. I have read a number of books on Trump and definitely hate the man, but get the feeling that Acosta is just trying to justify his bad actions.

Scary

If this book doesn't scare people about the next presidential election, nothing will. There are enough extreme conservatives out there, that Trump just might get elected if he runs again in 2024. Karl's in-depth reporting on Trump's last days in the White House could be a prediction of his next go-around as President. There is no reason the citizens of this country should have to put up with this foul-mouth, egotistical liar to head up our country. A great book written by Johnathan Karl.

This was a very good read/listen. It gave me a different perspective of JT. I always had a view of him being very straight laced and not the druggie-type.

I Have to agree with a number of others, this whole redacted crap took away from the book. There are a number of other retired agents who have written books who somehow get by without having anything redacted. I think it's just a ploy to somehow add more realism to the book.

Separation of Power

So far, I am about half way through with little or no action. Too much detail about insignificant events. A lot is lost when the narrator is not George Guidall. Not enamored with Kilban. This is by far the worst Mitch Rapp book I have read. I just finally stopped reading it.
