Historia
They say it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Finn McGraw disagrees. He was just 17 when he had a torrid summer affair with the girl who stole his heart - and then turned on him. Now, 10 years later, he's got more than his lost love to worry about. A horrific accident turns his life upside down, resurrecting the ghosts of his long-dead family and taking the lives of the few people he has left. Finn always believed his estranged brother was responsible for the fire that killed their family - but an unexpected inheritance throws everything he knows into doubt.

I was hooked!
Revisado: 05-26-14
If you could sum up The Seacrest in three words, what would they be?
First love forever
What did you like best about this story?
It's very difficult to switch time frames and make it work without jarring the reader, but Mr. Lazar does it beautifully in The Seacrest. Each chapter becomes a short story in itself, and the reader is taken back and forth as the story unfolds into the present. And what a story. There's something in the book for everyone: mystery, suspense, but it's mainly a love story that survives lies, mistrust, and misconceptions. Fortunately, I listened to it on a long drive, and I was totally caught up in the story and eager to find out what happened next.
What does George Kuch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Both reading a book and listening to one offers totally different experiences. Reading allows you to create the scenes and voices in your mind. Listening adds emotion, and Mr. Kuch does a fine job drawing the reader into the head of the main character. I felt the pain and joy and love through his narration. Fine job, Mr. Kuch.
Any additional comments?
Mr. Lazar is a fine writer. Period. End of story.

Great translation of the book
Revisado: 05-20-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Cold Comfort to be better than the print version?
This is a tough one. I had read the book, but the audio added an extra dimension in rounding out the characters
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Even though I knew the story, it had been a while since I'd read it, and I'd forgotten some of the scenes. I was completely engrossed in the story.
What about April Grace Lowe’s performance did you like?
April did a nice job defining the characters and instilling the right emotions when needed.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A romantic thriller with a touch of political intrigue.
Any additional comments?
Ms. Vidler knows how to create a story that keeps you guessing until the end.

Loved the book, loved the audio
Revisado: 02-23-14
What made the experience of listening to Time of Death the most enjoyable?
I had read Ellis Vidler's book long enough ago that listening to the audio seemed fresh in both character and plot. The cast is well presented, from Alex, the reluctant heroine, to Connor, the federal attorney who falls for her, to Rawlins, the antagonist, who proves that sometimes covering up one crime leads to another and another, until everything gets out of control. My two favorites were Jelly, the punch drunk boxer who falls in love with an angel and the star, for me, the three-legged military dog, Jax. All are fully drawn by the skill of Ms. Vidler's writing.
What does Teri Schnaubelt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator does a good job keeping the voices separate and individual. Ms. Schnaubelt has a pleasing voice and brings the story to life.
Any additional comments?
I've read other books by this author and look forward to listening to them too. I'm sure they'll all be as good as Time of Death.
