Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

I can't with this guy
Revisado: 02-11-25
I can't with this "hero". As a game system this would be awesome. As world building, it's intriguing. But I hate the protagonist. It's not like he's an anti-hero. The story tries to treat him like a hero. But in any other story he's the villain. Still he gets a pass for doing terrible things to other characters. I can't root for him.

Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few.

it's not the same
Revisado: 07-11-24
I love the audio book. I'm having a hard time with the dramatization. Some of the characters don't sound like I expected, particularly Vince. I really don't like the way Zero sounds in the lecture hall. I know it's supposed to be realistic but it just sounds off to me.

Historia
The Battle of Serenity Valley was the turning point that led the Independents to their defeat at the hands of the Alliance. Yet the Browncoats had held the valley for weeks against all odds, before being ordered to lay down their arms. Command stated they refused to send in airpower because the ground war was "too hot". But the soldiers who were there insist that was not true.... While picking up a new cargo on Persephone, Captain Malcolm Reynolds is kidnapped by a bunch of embittered veteran Browncoats who suspect him of sabotaging the Independents during the war.

A Good Episode
Revisado: 05-22-24
The Good: This would have made a fine 2-3 part season finale. The story is entertaining. The characters are pretty true to the show. If you're a Firefly fan, you'll probably like it. If you aren't a fan it'll make you want to check it out.
The Bad: There are some parts of the story that could be cut with no consequence. It would have been nice for some characters to get more time but it would have made for a much longer book. There are some parts of dialogue that's too on the nose even for dumb characters, like Jayne, to say.
The Ugly: As a fan of the show, I hear each character with a distinct voice. The narrator cannot possible mimic all of them well. The worst are Kaylee, Wash, and Inara. The best voicing is for Mal.

Swords. Sorcery. Dick Jokes. Truly do the gods smile upon you, dear listener, for the first four books in the hilarious Caverns and Creatures series are now available in one audiobook set. Join Tim, Dave, Julian, and Cooper as they are thrown into a hostile fantasy world filled with magic and monsters, and ruled over by a cruel and sadistic game master who taunts and harasses them while he sits back and eats their fried chicken.

Stupid is a Stupid does
Revisado: 02-09-23
Book One feels like a grind. The antagonist is pathetic and loathsome. Protagonists even more so. Book Two feels like hitting level 5 in D&D. The protagonists get clever, more defined, and lucky. By the time you hit Book Three, the antics are actually amusing, you want the heroes to succeed, and you hate the antagonists. Basically, it takes a while to get there, but eventually, the story starts to do what is supposed to. My only lingering complaint is that the narrator doesn't vary in his voice much, so it's not always easy to trek which character is talking.
Now having finished the book, I have to take it back down a notch. The protagonists are pretty dumb. Also there are so many of them that if you aren't binge listening you might lose track of what is going on with who where. Then to top it all off !Spoiler! the story isn't finished. I just don't know if I have it in me to pick up the next book and keep riding this train of bafoonery.

The adventuring industry drives the economy of Arth, a world much like our own but with more magic and fewer vowels. Monsters' hoards are claimed, bought by corporate interests, and sold off to plunder funds long before the Heroes' Guild actually kills the beasts. Of course, that's a terrible arrangement for the Shadowkin; orcs, goblins, kobolds, and their ilk must apply for to become Noncombatant Paper Carriers (or NPCs) to avoid being killed and looted by heroes.

What do you get when a Business major with a thing for D&D writes a fantasy novel? Something pretty close to this. The story is good. The characters are relatable, flawed but heroic. But in fairly certain that if I didn't have a degree in Business I would be a little lost at some points.

Excellent Ending
Revisado: 01-13-23
I loved this series. The final book is long but worth every chapter. The climax was a bit much but at this point in the story you would demand nothing less than an epic battle would satisfy. And that's not exaggeration. It is an epic battle. All in all it is an excellent ending to an excellent series. It would make an awesome series of movies so long an Disney doesn't get its hands on it.

Historia
A sexy caveman story about a rich girl who is banished to the distant past in prehistoric times. Would she ever be able to go back to regular life after a weekend with a caveman? Pure, primal, rough, natural, his touch was like nothing civilization could offer. She was in total danger on the edge of survival, but through her love, naked and afraid, they survived, together.

Good concept
Revisado: 01-06-22
Poor execution. Maybe it's because I'm a guy but the story lacks many juicy details. Also the main character was pretty one dimensional, which would be forgivable if they didn't try to give her a character arch and tell it from her perspective.
The biggest issue is the narration. It's pretty breathy. Also it sounds like it's the narrator's first time reading it. It's choppy and doesn't seem to flow. There's no variation between characters.
Shane because the story idea is great.

Don't be fooled
Revisado: 06-29-21
What did I just listen to? At first I thought it was just an interesting introduction into what would be a lewd fantasy story. Nope! It seriously is 8hrs following the life of a mimic. It's not a redemption story. The protagonist is in fact a villian and for most of the story a complete moron in every sense of the word. There are no heroes in this one. You won't bet some satisfaction of seeing them get what's coming to them in the end.
All of that being said it was well written for what it was. It's detailed and any gamer will enjoy the references. It just wasn't for me.
