Let’s get biblical in Narnia

If you were of the mind that The Conicals were only a coincidental biblical parallel think again. Lewis comes completely out of the closet on this one, complete with old timey racism towards “darkies” and their heretical religion. I remember trying to read this book as a 11 year old and thinking this is really weird and stopping halfway through thinking “this is getting to weird”. Now at 30, I feel completely vindicated. But hey, at least it’s got Sir Stewart holding down the narration. Also, Shift is Trump.

hilarious and self deprecating

Need to feel like your problems are simple? Looking for a healthy dose of "I'll make it through this". Check out this book. Marc is a top notch narrator for these bits and pieces of his life story.

More of a philosophy manifesto

This book is not so much an action packed sci fi as it is a description of militaristic philosophy and a justification of the use of violence by a government. Very much an old world way of thinking. It is still worth a read.

Juicy Gossip Novel

Don't do Audio guide books

Audio guidebooks just don't work unless you have pen in hand the whole time taking notes. There's no way to reference or skim through to the interesting things you may have heard. Complete waste of time.

A great sci-fi book that wraps up in 1 book!

Fun storyline, good classic characters and it moves along without seeming rushed. I would compare it to a Steven King book, Literary junk food. I mean that in the best possible way.

Interesting but longwinded

I gained a lot of onsite into the life of Vidal but the writing was almost to detailed at times. It might be that Vidal's life had that much going on. It was like he never stopped doing interesting things.

Engrossing 1950s sci-fi pulp

Enjoyable but a bit like a doctor who episode. The narrative was a tense and kept you listening. There are a few moments where you'll be scratching your head about why the characters who are "so smart" did a few things.
