Historia
On a hot August night, Lt. Eve Dallas and her husband, Roarke, speed through the streets of Manhattan to the Down and Dirty club, where a joyful, boisterous pre-wedding girls’ night out has turned into a murder scene. One of the brides lies in a pool of blood, garroted in a private room where she was preparing a surprise for her fiancée—two scrimped and saved-for tickets to Hawaii. Despite the dozens of people present, useful witnesses are hard to come by. It all brings back some bad memories for Eve.

Exceptional Writing

Nora has done it again in bringing us through another Eve Dallas investigation. I don’t want this series to end.

Historia
He was gorgeous, older and guarded. I knew he was trouble from the moment we locked eyes. We met at work, on my first day as a barista. He smiled, I melted...then he tasted my coffee and threw it away. Again, the next day, and the next. He hated the coffee, yet still came back. I knew his game. He called my coffee death in a cup. I called him god’s gift to women. I wasn’t lying.

One of TL Swan’s best stories. The characters are complex and the story is vivid and well told. The narration is flawless.

Historia
Jenna’s parents had finally given in, and there she was, at a New York club with her best friends, watching the legendary band Avenue A, carrying her demo in hopes of slipping it to the guitarist, Jake Kincade. Then, from the stage, Jake catches her eye, and smiles. It’s the best night of her life. It’s the last night of her life. Minutes later, Jake’s in the alley getting some fresh air, and the girl from the dance floor comes stumbling out, sick and confused and deathly pale. He tries to help, but it’s no use. He doesn’t know that someone in the crowd has jabbed her with a needle.

Nora does it again.
Revisado: 02-24-24
Whether it’s book 58 in the series or book 1058, we will never get enough of Eve Dallas, Roarke, Peabody and the beautifully gut wrenching tales of the worst of humanity that Nora so brilliantly brings to life, then In Death.

Historia
It was a glittering event full of A-listers, hosted by Eliza Lane and Brant Fitzhugh, a celebrity couple who’d conquered both Hollywood and Broadway. And now Eve Dallas has made her entrance—but not as a guest. After raising a toast, Fitzhugh fell to the floor and died, with physical symptoms pointing to cyanide, and the police have crashed the party. From all accounts, he wasn’t the kind of star who made enemies. Everyone loved him—even his ex-wife. And since the champagne cocktail that killed him was originally intended for Eliza, it’s possible she was the real target.

There is never enough
Revisado: 02-24-23
Maybe it’s because I was immersed in the details, but this book felt abridged. Maybe it’s because Nora has created an extended family of Roark’s and Eve’s with 55 prior books, that we only visit in February and September with new books, but we didn’t get these extended family visits. Did Mavis have baby #2? What does her reno look like? Did Peabody order the lamp she liked? Feeny? How is Somerset ok? Is McNab planning to propose to Peabody at a Mavis party? In this book, Somerset reminds me of a butler rather than Roarke’s chosen family because there was no dialogue outside of the witty repartee at the door.
How about an “encore” with these and more updates set when Eve and Roark return from vacation. It can be attached as a link this spring in Nora’s Newsletter. Love this series.

Historia
Over twenty years ago, the heiress Patricia Lockwood was abducted during a robbery of her family's estate, then locked inside an isolated cabin for months. Patricia escaped, but so did her captors - and the items stolen from her family were never recovered. Until now. On the Upper West Side, a recluse is found murdered in his penthouse apartment, alongside two objects of note: a stolen Vermeer painting and a leather suitcase bearing the initials WHL3. For the first time in years, the authorities have a lead - with the suitcase and painting both pointing them toward one man.

Heartfelt, Intelligent and Strong
Revisado: 12-12-18
Michelle Obama wrote an inspiring book giving hope to those of us who both admired the Obama’s and are disgusted and disappointed by the current administration. Becoming is real, the stories are thoughtful and inspiring. Funny anecdotes are peppered in between gut wrenching stories of America. Getting Michelle’s opinions and personal insights of Barack and life inside the Whitehouse left me loving them even more. My emotions ranged from laughing, crying and yelling out “amen!” This is a must read, no matter your political affiliation. When they go low, we go high. Michelle left me with hope that one bad administration cannot and will irk dull the progress we’ve made.

Historia
Theodora knows she can't keep her five beautiful daughters at home forever - they're too curious, too free spirited, too like their late father. And so, before each girl leaves the small house on the riverside at the foot of Mount Olympus, Theodora makes sure they know they are always welcome to return. A devoted and resilient mother, Theodora has lived through World War II, through the Nazi occupation of Greece, and through her husband's death, and now she endures the twenty-year-long silence of her daughters' absence.

Moving Story
Revisado: 11-04-18
The storyline for this family is intricate and takes you through every emotion and leaves you happy for the family as they are reunited. The question I can’t help but ask is why the family had to endure such heartbreak? It seemed like each daughters heartbreak was worse than the one before. Beautifully written and happy in the end, with unspeakable tragedy and triumph.
