I'm literally at a loss for words and still feeling horrified at what I learned, from these heart wrenching first-hand accounts, has happened to children, the intellectually disabled, and so many poor people of color in our so called Justice system. Just read it. Have your teens read it. Get this in the hands of everybody who thinks they're not a racist... especially in places like Alabama and Louisiana where RIGHT NOW state legislature is trying to pass laws PROHIBITING discussion of critical race theory and America's racist past in classrooms to preserve the white supremacy agenda.

I knew Dr. Alan London. My husband and I chatted with him outside his office 5 minutes before he was killed.

Thank you Andy Brown for writing this book and filling in so many holes about that day.

Oh...and I was walking out of the BX that Friday, the 24th, buying a sympathy card to take to Dr. London's memorial service. I saw the B-52 crash.... thanks for all the research you did to document the SYSTEMIC idiocy that allowed that damn hot dog F15 pilot wannabe to continue flying and endangering others. I had NO idea that the copilot's teen son's and wife watched the crash. Dear Lord....
Lastly Andy, I'm thrilled to hear your life is joyful in Spokane, a community I love and maintain ties to still.

God bless you and your family.

If you were captivated by the characters you saw on screen, you will be drawn in FULLY to the rest of the details of Kathryn, Mary and Dorothy's fantastic lives. You'll meet many other extraordinary women of this time and see how together - black and white women - they put the first cracks in NASA's glass ceiling. See their tenacity, read about their professional journeys complete with obstacles due to sexism, institutional bias, and laws of the time. Appreciate the grace with which they navigated the systems they found themselves in as they contributed their intellect to America's greatest adventure. Inspirational? That doesn't even begin to cover it. Share this book with a young lady, a teenager even... and tell her to challenge herself and never hold back to unlock the FULL potential of her talent.

This remains my favorite book EVER.

It's the BEST reminder that "When you really want something all the universe conspires to help you achieve it."

Truth.

the narrator does an astounding job bringing this uniquely intriguing and terrifying apocalyptic scenario to life. What happens to the American southwest when the lakes evaporate and rivers and water become war zones? What happens when the drought never ends? Can you imagine Americans as refugees within our own borders, not allowed to move between states?
