Historia
The last time Thread attacked Pern, the world was unprepared for the fight - until the Oldtimers appeared. These courageous dragonriders arrived from the past, traveling 400 years to help their descendants survive. But the collision of past and present took its toll. While most of the displaced rescuers adapted to their new reality, others could not abide the jarring change and found themselves in soul-crushing exile, where unhappiness and resentment seethed.

Great to find the continuing story
Revisado: 03-30-23
It's been several years since I have visited the world of Pern. But it was amazing how much came back yo me of this world of dragons as the story unfolded. It's good to know that the Next Generation of Dragon Rider novels will continue.

Historia
The host of Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson Tonight offers a blistering critique of the new American ruling class, the elites of both parties, who have taken over the ship of state, leaving the rest of us, the citizen-passengers, to wonder: How do we put the country back on course?

nice insight and background
Revisado: 11-06-18
I have always enjoyed watching Tucker on Fox News. This was made more enjoyable by listening to him actually read what he had written. There is lots of fantastic background information and flushing out stories that I had heard, but did not know all of the story, or as one newscaster used to say many years ago "And now for the rest of the story." Each chapter is broken down into a different subject making it very easy to follow and very easy reader-friendly to keep track of what he was talking about. The book flows extremely well. if anyone is interested in how our country has ended up in some of the difficulties we are now in as far as the government goes and how it runs the lives of the American people should read this . I will be looking for other Tucker books.

Historia
Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett reveals the real story behind Hillary Clinton’s deep state collaborators in government and exposes their nefarious actions during and after the 2016 election. This audiobook reveals how persons within the FBI and Barack Obama’s Justice Department worked improperly to help elect Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. When this suspected effort failed, those same people appear to have pursued a contrived investigation of President Trump in an attempt to undo the election results and remove him as president.

Real Reporting
Revisado: 10-04-18
This book used real laws and statements made during the time of Donald Trump as President of the United States and put them into an easily understandable format. There were many things I had questioned while I watched reports on television or read them in news outlets. This book brought a lot of clarity to what people of power and people of hate did to a legitimate President. It was very easy to understand and very enjoyable to listen to as I worked on projects at home daily.

Historia
When Jon Katz got a call from an animal control officer about Simon, a neglected donkey who had been found on a failing farm in upstate New York, he wasn't expecting to add another animal to his already full life. But when he made the trek out to meet him, he couldn't help falling in love with the skinny, mangy donkey who had already suffered so much, and he ended up taking him into his home. It was Simon who listened in the fields as Jon read to him and discussed philosophy.

book club book
Revisado: 09-29-18
Our book club decided to read this book this year. Not exactly one that I would normally have chosen, but well written and the farther along the story I read the better I enjoyed it. The last couple of chapters created a great deal of emotion. Would I recommend a book? Absolutely! Is it a book I would read again ? Perhaps in the future. The story became more emotional for me when the old blind horse had trouble with the donkey. I have a real affinity for old animals approaching ending their life expectancy.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Amazing story
Revisado: 08-19-18
Let me start by saying I do not give 5 stars across the board to books in general. It takes an extremely well-written and riveting story to earn 5 stars from me . However, this story is amazing. I learned many things about apartheid and South Africa I didn't truly know or understand. This novel is a mixture of comedy and drama as it brings to life a family and its struggles through the eyes of a young boy growing up in South Africa during and after apartheid. With this story the reader learns of the abuse, poverty, and oppression endured and experienced by the author, Trevor Noah, as he grows into a young man.Trevor's life was truly a difficult one to experience . Amazingly he was able to grow into adulthood and become successful in the entertainment field . It is inspirational in many ways. People can rise above their circumstances in life. This is definitely a book that should be listened to instead of read. The accent and foreign words spoken correctly, make this story come to life. This is definitely one of the best books I've read / listened to ever. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Revisado: 05-04-18
I read this series many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact many of the books in this series I have read a few times. But now I can plug this into the phone or my tablet and put headphones on to enjoy the beautiful story while I am doing other tasks. I don't want to be without this application especially during longer driving trips. Listening to the stories is even more enjoyable than when I read the paper books over 30 years ago.

Another side to World War II
Revisado: 06-14-16
I learned so many interesting things about World War II that I had never heard of before. It is amazing to think of what these people went through in the jungles of Burma. This story tells of the bond between man and elephant and how strong it can be. It tells of how without the help of many elephants, World War II could have turned out very differently in this part of the world . The picture that is painted with words, clearly shows a time in history and a part of the world most of us will never know . Being an animal lover , there are many emotional scenarios that are so relatable the reader can be drawn in so they feel they are part of that moment in time.. I highly recommend this book.
