Weird, but fun, to cheer on some hedgefund-hero
Revisado: 01-21-25
I follow the author on his YT channel for his military and geopolitical analysis, and was curious to hear that he had written a novel. The binged the audiobook easily, and was thoroughly entertained as well as intrigued by the premise. The reader did a great job as well - and I just got to say that I look forward to another novel. Big smile and best regards from Norway!

Learn how to separate internet fact from fiction. We live in the information age, giving us access to every datum ever collected and every opinion its originator thought fit to share. But with this newfound access to information comes a new challenge. Namely, how can you tell what information is true and what is false? In Is This Wi-Fi Organic? Dave Farina, author and science expert from the YouTube channel Professor Dave Explains, is here to help you fight confirmation bias and logical fallacies.

So much more than what the funny title indicates.
Revisado: 05-12-21
I've been a fan of the author for quite some time now, and I jumped on the book as soon as I saw it on Audible. Now that I'm done with it I can gladly say that it was an easy and fun listening experience.
The information and entertainment Dave Farina has shared for years online through Youtube is absolutely marvelous, and now much of that has been condensed into this splendid book. This is one of those books that I'll recommend to everyone - simply because it leaves you with much of the knowledge and wisdom needed to deal with the chaos and misinformation of modern life.

A glimpse into the horrific reality of our world
Revisado: 11-17-20
Dear heavens, it was so hard to listen to this book!
The performance is superb, the writing is excellent but oh the subject and these horrific stories. I was on a roller coaster ride of shock, sadness and anger from the insane injustice of the world, but I was also filled with admiration for the work and life of all these women.
Great book.

Historia
The American public's introduction to nuclear technology was manifested in destruction and death. With Hiroshima and the Cold War still ringing in our ears, our perception of all things nuclear is seen through the lens of weapons development. Nuclear power is full of mind-bending theories, deep secrets, and the misdirection of public consciousness - some deliberate, some accidental. The result of this fixation on bombs and fallout is that the development of a non-polluting, renewable energy source stands frozen in time.

The blessings and bombs of nuclear technology
Revisado: 02-22-17
Atomic awakening by James Mahaffey is one of the better books I've ever gone through! From blessed Marie Curie to the genius buffoon Richard Feynman and many more amazing people the thrilling and fascinating story is told of the discovery and development of nuclear technology. Alas the story also tells of how regretful it is that destruction and death was our first real public introduction to this potential second coming of Promethean fire to mankind. Good heavens, this book was interesting and John McLain does a great job narrating it.

Oh no, my credit!
Revisado: 01-25-11
One of the worst books I have ever listened to, it's not even a good fantasy if that's what the author was going for. To be honest, these predictions were so dumb that it got physically painful to listen to that dribble.
Stay away from this audiobook, since you might as well save the credit and spend the rest of the day just listening to TV static for better information about the world.

The force is truly with this audiobook
Revisado: 08-18-10
I enjoyed this audiobook immensely. The story couldn't be more true to the good old Star Wars theme and is quite captivating, but the audio experience was what blew me away. The reading, the sound effects and the music - everything just came together perfectly in exciting and enjoyable experience, that kept me hoping that the story would never end.
I highly recommend this for any Star Wars fan, willing to be immersed in an epic story all over the galaxy far far away. True Star Wars!

This great African adventure novel is an enduring favorite among those who love excitement and romance. It is filled with qualities close to the human heart: the spirit of adventure and discovery, the desire for immortality, primal terror, and the search for the primitive. Few knew the Dark Continent as Haggard did; his experience of savage life and wild lands lends a visceral credibility that makes us believe the impossible.

Huzzah for good audiobooks!
Revisado: 03-12-10
What an audiobook!
This classical story of Allan Quatermain's adventure through unexplored Africa is just a splendid, and the narrator, Mr. Rudnicki, did a wonderful work filling the audio with life and excitement. If you want to get lost for 8 and a half hour in a brilliant classic adventure, then this is what you need.
I have to admit that my workday has never gone by so quickly, more than 8 hours and I didn't notice a thing. Huzzah for good audiobooks!

Made the flu a cozy excuse
Revisado: 10-18-08
I have saved this story for a long time, and suffering from the winter flu the moment seemed right. Audible had many versions available and it was hard to choose. The voice of Dick Hill in the preview persuaded me and I wasn't disappointed.
Mary did a very good job of conjuring up the world of Frankenstein and his monster and their tormenting plight of life. I was very moved by this story. It is thrilling, touching and scary all at once.
The narration by Dick Hill was entirely perfect. His voice and Mary's story became this rollercoaster of an audio book, that just made this winter flu a cozy excuse to relax and enjoy good literature.

I raised my hands muttering "Yes!"
Revisado: 04-07-08
This was my second listening by H.G. Wells after The Time machine and boy. . . this one didn't let me down either.
The narration of this book was different in the way it was very emotional, dramatic and they even used music to add to the experience. For me, it just hit every right spot. I actually cheered and raised my hands muttering "Yes!" at one part of the book (you'll know when it happens), much to the surprise of my fellow co-workers (the poor things only listen to the radio or music. . . such a waste of time).
But anyways, I found both the story and the narration to be just the right thing for me. This book was six hours of great emotions as I at times cheered or grieved the fate of man but also the story gave me many things to ponder afterwards about humanity and its place in the world.
If I would usually wear a hat (like a good english tophat), I would now take it off in token of appreciations for the master of fiction. . . H.G. Wells.
Truly a good listening.
