Historia
Even an experienced pet sitter like Daphne Templeton can be fooled by animal behavior: how can an adorably tiny fuzz ball named Tinkleston be capable of sudden flying leaps with cat claws bared? But human behavior remains even more mysterious, especially when Tinkleston's owner is murdered on the night of a gala fundraiser for Fur-ever Friends Pet Rescue. Accompanied by her unflappable basset hound, Socrates, Daphne plans to take charge of Tinks the Terror and leave the crime-solving to handsome detective Jonathan Black.

Love the Animals, But Terrible Main Character
Revisado: 03-17-24
The main character is too stupid to live and just plain negligent, the character plot holes are awful. A loving character would care about potentially endangering people and animals, especially ones in her care. She's more of a dangerous flake, than a free spirit.
I've read other peace loving, free spirits that cared about those around them. It's not free spirited and loving of all creatures to drive around in a dangerous vehicle with bald tires, bad breaks and headlights that don't work, especially after she gets more than enough money to drive a safe vehicle. Theres nothing selfless and charitable about negligence. Leaving her animals in an unlocked home, puts them in danger. She also puts her animals in other dangerous situations and feeds them food that are really bad for dogs, her baked goods are have ingredients that can damage a dog's health. I do love the descriptions of the animals, and if the author evolved the main character to care about the safety of others, it would be a great series.

Historia
Laid off from her department store job, Carmen has perilously little cash and few options. The prospect of spending Christmas with her perfect sister Sofia, in Sofia’s perfect house with her perfect children and her perfectly ordered yuppie life, does not appeal. Frankly, Sofia doesn’t exactly want her prickly sister Carmen there, either. But Sofia has yet another baby on the way, a mother desperate to see her daughters get along, and a client who needs help revitalizing his shabby old bookshop. So Carmen moves in and takes the job.

Whiny, Harsh Narrating Ruined It
Revisado: 01-25-23
For what I thought might be a cozy holiday book, the narrating was grating, whiny and harsh, with a hard tone that cuts through any chance of this story being enjoyable.

Historia
While New Bern, Connecticut, lies under a blanket of snow, Cobbled Court Quilts remains a cozy haven for its owner, Evelyn Dixon, and her friends. Evelyn relishes winter’s slower pace—besides, Internet sales are hopping, thanks to her son Garrett’s efforts. In addition to helping out at the shop, Garrett has also been patiently waiting for his girlfriend, Liza, to finish art school in New York City.

Annoying Storyline
Revisado: 08-11-21
I really enjoyed the light, sweet storylines of the previous books in this series AND of course the craftiness. This book however was rough. Liza's character was a frustrating and well just one eye roll after another. The indecisiveness ruined the book. So sorry you have a great guy that loves you and wants to marry you and supports your dreams, while you're pursuing an art degree paid for by your aunt, you've been offered an amazing art museum job (with no work experience), have an aunt who wants to throw you a beautiful wedding and you have a supportive group of friends to lean on. Her whining and indecision about her privileged life and great opportunities is not something I can relate to at all. It's nice to escape into a light book full of craftiness, but this character is whiney and ungrateful. Who cares what this character thinks at all? Ick.
