May 1915. After tragedy strikes during the Second Battle of Artois, Frenchman Julian Olivier will do anything to get out of the trenches. So when British Intelligence recruits him to spy behind enemy lines, he jumps at the opportunity. Just before he begins, however, he has a chance encounter with a young French woman who leaves his heart marked for the remainder of the war - even if he doesn’t know her name. As a dangerous ring of spies and saboteurs threatens to turn the war against the Allies, Julian discovers goodness in his enemies’ hearts.

A wonderfully conceived and well written novel
Revisado: 07-22-22
I assumed this was some kind of WWI fighter pilot novel.
What it turned out to be was much better. It is a well thought out WWI spy thriller. The plot twists are unexpected and keep the reader speculating through out the book.
I’m so happy I stumbled into this book.

The narration is atrocious
Revisado: 08-22-19
The performance is full of mispronunciations and stumbles. The audio sounds like it was recorded in a closet. I’ve read the book and it is great, but the narration is so poor as to be distracting and I had to stop listening. I hope a professional narrator records this book and I will be first in line to buy the new audiobook.

Historia
In this dramatic story of World War II, Jay A. Stout describes how the US built an air force of 2.3 million men after starting with 45,000 and defeated the world's best air force. In order to defeat Germany in World War II, the Allies needed to destroy the Third Reich's industry and invade its territory, but before they could effectively do either, they had to defeat the Luftwaffe, whose state-of-the-art aircraft and experienced pilots protected German industry and would batter any attempted invasion.

A good history
Revisado: 02-25-18
If you want a history this is a good book. You won’t find any “inside the cockpit” thrillers. Much of this I knew already, but there were one or two chapters filling in the gaps.
If you are new to the air war in Europe, I highly recommend, if not, not so much.

Historia
The Battle of Dunkirk, in May/June 1940, is remembered as a stunning defeat yet a major victory as well. The Nazis had beaten back the Allies and pushed them across France to the northern port of Dunkirk. In the ultimate race against time, more than 300,000 Allied soldiers were daringly evacuated across the Channel. This moment of German aggression was used by Winston Churchill as a call to Franklin Roosevelt to enter the war.

This is more about the movie than the event
Revisado: 07-02-17
Save your money unless you want to know about the movie in great detail. I expected to hear about the event and too some extent that's true. However, much of this book is about how the movie was made. I waisted my money. I want a refund!
