Surprising Good
Revisado: 04-03-25
I don't review most books I read. So let me start by saying this is far above average. It is both interesting and poignant.
I was thinking it was a full length book when I purchased it, but it is in fact a short story only a couple hours long. It was well done and thoughtful. It really didn't need to be longer. It really makes you think.
When I say it was good I don't mean it was good for science fiction, I mean it was good for any genre. It was probably the best short story I have read since "The Egg" by Andy Weir.
Definitely worth reading. I'm glad I have it in my collection.

You can bet your cards, but you can’t bet the river until the flop. Excellent performance, excellent story, excellent pacing and delivery.
If you like courtroom dramas, you would like this one. Nice mystery well told. So much I want to say, but I don’t feel like I can without revealing the ending. Thank you, Adam Mitzner, for taking me down the river of this tale.

Great Story, Dark Tale
Revisado: 12-30-24
Very well written. The only thing I didn’t like was that the ending was a little open ended. Not sure if there is another book coming or if the author thought the story was complete. It felt complete, but I wish there was a summary with a little more resolution.

Great! (As Romance Novels Go)
Revisado: 12-29-24
I like complicated, realistic characters in a novel. Most romance novels are horrible with their saccharin sweet good-guys and their evil bad-guys. As it turns out, this novel is no different. At least in this novel the rich good-guys have a realistic reason why they were not spoiled brats even though they inherited billions.
This may well be the best romance novel I have read. Sill, I crave a story with more nuanced characters where (the good guys are not tall, handsome, rich, and destined for happiness with a flawed but kind protagonist) and (the bad guys are not purely irredeemably evil, destined for death or prison).
As for the performance, very good job. The Texas accent needs some help. Your Houston-based characters have a west-Texas accent and not even a good one. It was way overdone for genuine accent. You still did a much better overall job than I could with all of the characters, so: well done.

Excellent Story
Revisado: 12-29-24
I like the story. It’s a complicated plot which comes to a reasonable conclusion. Within the story, it gives you a sense of justice the real world lacks. It does perpetuate some tropes, which are not necessarily true.
It’s a nice mystery with a small touch of romance.

When Michael Lewis first met him, Sam Bankman-Fried was the world’s youngest billionaire and crypto’s Gatsby. CEOs, celebrities, and leaders of small countries all vied for his time and cash after he catapulted, practically overnight, onto the Forbes billionaire list. Who was this rumpled guy in cargo shorts and limp white socks, whose eyes twitched across Zoom meetings as he played video games on the side?

The man who became known as Esrahaddon is reported to have destroyed the world’s greatest empire—but there are those who believe he saved it. Few individuals are as divisive, but all agree on three facts: He was exiled to the wilderness, hunted by a goblin priestess, and sentenced to death by a god—all before the age of eight. How he managed to survive and why people continued to fear his name a thousand years later has always been a mystery...until now.

Another great book from Michael J Sullivan
Revisado: 08-22-23
An excellent conclusion to the most excellent Rise and Fall series. I especially like the ending. I highly recommend every book in the series. I don’t want to give anything away, but I love his thoroughly likable characters and the way he weaves the story line and characters between all of his novels.
Michael J Sullivan is by far my favorite author because he doesn’t forget the plot, while he constructs a world of wonderfully likable characters.
The way Tim Gerard Reynolds brings the characters to life is just magical. I doubt anyone anywhere could do the job better.

Very Moving
Revisado: 10-23-22
A very moving story, and tribute to what appears to be a be a man made disaster taking many lives. I only wish that this included the facts date and circumstances of the disaster about which the production memorializes.
I give it five stars not because I liked it or enjoyed it. It is not fare to ask anyone to rate this production as it is not fare to ask to rate the lives of those who died.
