Historia
What if after decades there was still one more untold incredible Viet Nam war saga peppered with tightly-written notes from then young, not yet 20, and highly decorated leader of a small group of underground and Special Force combatants who searched and destroyed over 900 tunnels?

I know the author means well, but a different narrator would have been better. I just couldn't get past it, reminded me of listening to a Sunday school teacher.

Historia
FBI Agent Pendergast has taken Constance on a whirlwind Grand Tour. They head to Tibet, where Pendergast intensively trained in martial arts and spiritual studies. At a remote monastery, they learn that a rare and dangerous artifact the monks have been guarding for generations has been stolen. Pendergast agrees to take up the search. The trail leads him and Constance to the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria passenger liner - and to an Atlantic crossing fraught with terror.

Mundane and Self-Indulgent
Revisado: 10-18-10
This was my first Preston book, and it will be my last. I bought it because I am a big fan of the movie 'The Relic' which was based on one of his books, so I elected to buy one of his stories, but his prose is awful. I do not personally need ten adjectives to describe how the sky looks, which is typical of the first hour or so of this book (which is about I could stomach listening to). In that first hour or so, the plot went absolutely nowhere, and I struggled greatly to focus my attention on the plot, because it absolutely is not written well enough to do so on its own. Preston strikes me as an author that likes to fill pages with loads of details rather than develop subplots that contribute to the main plot. It may change later, if you can bear getting through the mind-numbing first hour. If you are a fan of Ludlum, Grisham, Clancy or any author who can develop characters, grab a reader's attention and weave a plot, this book is not for you. I want my credits back!

Historia
When Germany invaded Poland, bombers devastated Warsaw - and the city's zoo along with it. With most of their animals dead, zookeepers Jan and Antonina Zabinski began smuggling Jews into the empty cages. Another dozen "guests" hid inside the Zabinskis' villa, emerging after dark for dinner, socializing, and, during rare moments of calm, piano concerts.

Awful
Revisado: 02-17-10
The prose of this book is like trying to listen to a Dickens novel in biographical form. There is far too much page (or in this case, audio) descriptive filler for the story being told. The narrator is equally awful, she sounds like Julie Andrews, and it feels like she is singing her way through the story. I tried, but I could not finish it. Terrible, terrible download.
