Amazing As Usual

The author of the Primal Hunter books doesn’t take it too seriously. Including some amazing humor, relatable characters, and a “conversation” style authors note talking directly to the audience in a very casual way. I find it extremely endearing and I have love LOVED these books. The author is so amazing at writing a dang good story, and he puts out books on an incredible schedule. Like seriously, this guy is my number 1 favorite author because he knows that we (fans) want more books, so he probably busts his butt to get a book out every 3 or so months (I think) which is absolutely incredible. I just feel like the author really cares about his audience, unlike many other authors who just leave a series unfinished. *cough* *cough* Aleron Kong, Andries Louws, and Patrick Rothfuss. (If you can’t tell I am salty about forever unfinished series’)

Michael gives Elaine a British accent in this book, and only this book.

Great story, masterful as always from Jordan. Not sure why Michael gave Elaine a Brit accent only in this book, it’s obnoxious and Kate doesn’t replicate it so it lacks consistency.

Narrator Swap For The Last Book? Boo

Narrator was not good. Flatly narrated most characters, and completely changed many of their accents. I only kept listening because I wanted to listen to the rest of the story, but even the conclusion was a major bummer. Truly disappointing as I really enjoyed the first four books.

Everything is scintillating and Chloe is worried.

That sums up my thoughts about the book^ Oh my goodness someone should tell the author that words besides scintillating exist, he uses it to describe what feels like everything. The author is very repetitive always eluding to how worried Chloe is when Alexander leaves his body. Also, MC is kind of a cry baby, and I guess it’s part of his character but he’s so whiny sometimes it’s annoying. It was a good book, but someone seriously needs to tell David that words like “sparkling”, “swirling”, “glittering”, or even “twinkling” also exist, so he doesn’t have to use scintillating like five thousand times.

Great intro to a great series with a great narrator

I really enjoy books in this category, and this one is a series I have enjoyed thoroughly. The first book sets up the whole series and really allows the reader to connect with the characters. Travis Baldree is as incredible as always, hands down one of my favorite narrators along with Nick Podhel. Overall amazing.

Books 1 & 2 were incredible and I could hardly wait to listen to 3 & 4. Zero character consistency and there is too much plot manipulation, like book 4 was meant to go a certain way and then was radically changed on a whim before publishing. Book 4 was not very good, I enjoyed the developing romance side plot. Though other than that, book 4 was underwhelming and disappointing. Even the cliff hanger ending left me annoyed rather than happily in suspense.
I have to say Travis Baldree is always incredible though.

Fun. Pure fun. I loved this book and the whole series. Great characters. Great story. Great reader. Writing about it is simply fantastic.

Ending left me in too much suspense

Sometimes cliffhangers get readers excited for the next book. It builds anticipation. But the way Andrew left almost all of this books conflicts un-resolved left me wanting. It was a great book but I’m disappointed with how it ended.

The CLIFF HANGER

I seriously hate cliff hangers. It would seriously lower my opinion of the book if he doesn’t write another book. The story is good, it just neglects a lot of things, which is why I think he NEEDS to write another book. I loved the audio performance though, it was seriously awesome.
