Isabel's life is thrown for a few loops when her cousin Mimi arrives from Dallas with her husband Joe. Through Mimi and Joe, Isabel meets Texas hotshot Tom Bruce, who is about to marry someone Isabel suspects of gold-digging. Further complicating matters, Tom seems to have an unusual level of interest in Isabel. Meanwhile, Isabel has her own feelings to deal with, not to mention those of her beloved niece Cat, whose romantic interest may not be up to snuff.

May December Romance - why not?
Revisado: 08-10-24
l thoroughly enjoyed the story, but it was disconcerting when a new chapter began so abruptly. I feel a few seconds between the end of one chapter and the beginning of another would have made listening much more enjoyable.

I disliked the narrator. Her voice was too plummy for this type of story. I found her narration distracting.

Always fun

Agatha Raisin is evolving. Although still rough around the edges, they're softening, but her detecting skills are still sharp.

Poor narration
Revisado: 09-06-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Th estory was fine and I've liked this series when I read the books.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plotwas well-written, butnit wasn't that engaging.
What didn’t you like about Andrea Thompson and Robert Forster ’s performance?
Andrea Thompson's narration was too low and not very clear. Robert Forster made a
good Midnight Louie.
Do you think Cat on a Hyacinth Hunt needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
This is one in a series, so there are additional books.
Any additional comments?
I didn't realize this was an abridged version; there were parts that would have been clearer if the story hadn't been abridged.

When Once You Practice to Deceive
Revisado: 10-02-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
YES! it was funny and quirky while it highlighted the overdevelopment that took place in Florida. It was a great story.. I felt as if I were watching the action close up.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Native Tongue?
One of the most memorable moments took place in the whale pool. I can't say any more without ruining the story.
What about George Wilson’s performance did you like?
I was floored by George Wilson's ablity to protray each character so skillfully; it was as if there was an entire cast of performers. He made the story come alive with all of Hiaasen's wacky characters and hilarious action.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, If I had the time I would have loved to have listened to it in one sitting.
Any additional comments?
Listening to Geroge Wilson bring the characters to life was great fun.
