Historia
This survival guide for new pilots identifies the pitfalls waiting inside the killing zone, the period from 50 to 350 flight hours when they leave their instructors behind and fly as pilot in command for the first time. Although they're privately certified, many of these unseasoned aviators are unaware of the potential accidents that lie ahead while trying to build decision-making skills on their own - many times falling victim to inexperience.

Reality check
Revisado: 02-06-25
This book is good for any pilot to review. I found it stimulated my thought process and filled in the gaps missed by my personal eclectic approach to training. I am a 1000 hour instrument rated SEL pilot with complex and tail dragged endorsements.

Historia
In 2009 Clinton Romesha of Red Platoon and the rest of the Black Knight Troop were preparing to shut down Command Outpost Keating, the most remote and inaccessible in a string of bases built by the US military in Nuristan and Kunar in the hope of preventing Taliban insurgents from moving freely back and forth between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Three years after Keating's construction, the army was finally ready to concede what the men on the ground had known immediately: It was simply too isolated and too dangerous to defend.

This story is true
Revisado: 01-15-25
Unforgettable acts of valor and when all looked the darkest. Our soldiers, Americans, never gave up. They pulled from themselves the physical strength plus the clarity of mind to over come all. They pushed back and retook the outpost till help from the skies arrived. This is a story of how training and the will to survive jelled and each man’s part shoehorned with other men and machines to overcome and survive against overwhelming odds. They came from us. I like to think that a little bit of these men’s bravery and ability reside in each of us. Stories such as this should instill and us a bit a bit of pride and a bit of pause. And we should live our lives in such a way to honor those who throughout the history of the United States of America, have fault to preserve our way of life.A must read.

Historia
The War on Warriors uncovers the deep roots of our dysfunction—a society that has forgotten the men who take risks, cut through red tape, and get their hands dirty. The only kind of men prepared to face the dangers that the Left pretends don’t exist. Unlike issues of education or taxes or crime, this problem doesn’t have a zip code solution. We can’t move away from it. We can’t avoid it. We have only one Pentagon. Either we take it back or surrender it altogether.

Much was shocking and eye opening. It is apparent that many top-down changes needs to happen in our military.

Nothing. I own a printed copy, and I would listen to the audible production at least three times. There is more knowledge to be cleaned from this book than just about any I’ve ever read, or listened to.

Oddly narrated
Revisado: 02-20-23
I will say the author gave good data and if you can endure the narrators voice and style, you will benefit from the message from within. Until the chapter on plant based lifestyle when one has to endure being preached at and shamed for having incisors. Do yourself a favor and skip that chapter. If you buy the book then you already enjoy the benefits of vegetables. Again the author knows their stuff and obviously knows the science behind it. Their knowledge is on the PHD level of understanding how hydroponics and plants work together for outstanding yields. If you grit your teeth and endure the audio production, you will gain valuable knowledge.

Critical of American lodges
Revisado: 05-24-22
Yes we have seen an ebb and flow of membership and I agree, the one day pathway to the individual members rise in conferring degrees is in danger of cheapening the experience. However, the authors insistence the European or Australian path is superior is irritating. Good for him and his lodge. Each to his own. America and its lodges are rich in their history. Our small blue lodge is growing and our instruction is one on one as it has been done through the ages. I will say I enjoyed the book until the last chapters. Masons are world wide and the recognition extends beyond countries. To tout a country or countries Masonic policies over another country, as superior, is alienating, at least to this reader. He could have chosen his words more carefully by not mentioning countries at all but did not do so. It is puzzling as the author is from Indianapolis.

Historia
Southern Afghanistan was slipping away. That was clear to then-Captain Rusty Bradley as he began his third tour of duty there in 2006. The Taliban and their allies were infiltrating everywhere, poised to reclaim Kandahar Province, their strategically vital onetime capital. To stop them, the NATO coalition launched Operation Medusa, the largest offensive in its history. The battlefield was the Panjwayi Valley, a densely packed warren of walled compounds that doubled neatly as enemy bunkers.

Third time to read
Revisado: 10-08-20
I have purchased a kindle version plus the Audible version. I expect that I will read it multiple or listen multiple more times. This book is one of my treasures in my library. What can I say. It is a good read but more so an historical recording of fluid action during a great battle. The situational awareness and clarity of thought during pressure applied that not many can have claimed to experience. One day an epic movie will be made. One day a President worthy of the office will recognize these heroes. Again I say this one of the best books I own. It is a true account of the soldiers who are now known as the
Ions of Kandahar.

Historia
In one of the most compelling combat narratives ever written, Staff Sergeant David Bellavia, an Army infantry platoon leader in Iraq, gives a teeth-rattling, first-hand account of 11 straight days of heavy house-to-house fighting during the climactic second battle of Fallujah. His actions in the firefight, which included killing five insurgents in hand-to-hand combat, earned Bellavia the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, and New York state's highest military honor, the Conspicuous Service Cross.
