Historia
Five years after a pneumonic plague killed two-thirds of the world's population, army veteran Marcus Battle is isolated. He's alone with his guns, his food, and the graves of his wife and child. Unaware of the chaos that's befallen everything outside of his central Texas ranch land, Marcus lives a Spartan life. If anyone steps onto his property, he shoots first and never asks questions. But when a woman in distress, chased by marauders, seeks asylum, Marcus has a decision to make.

Refreshing
Revisado: 09-25-22
It’s a great story and it so refreshing to have a good action story with all the suspense but none of the gross. None of the trash. Is it completely realistic and believable? no. It’s a good work of fiction.

Historia
Dr. Steven Dunbar works for the SCI-Med Inspectorate, an elite government agency charged with investigating hi-tech crime relating to the world of science and medicine. He is therefore bemused when the deathbed confession of a convicted psychopath lands on his desk. But it's not so amusing when it emerges that another man has already been tried and convicted of the crime - a man whose medical research once sent shockwaves through the scientific community.

Slow burn, nice ending
Revisado: 09-08-22
Definitely took a while for me to be engrossed in the story but by the end I couldn’t stop listening. A little too “gross” at times for my personal taste but I overall enjoyed the book and will read more in this series. (This was my first by this author.)

Humorous, surprising, and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street.

Excellent, if slow

This is an excellent book; a little slow moving perhaps, but it is thought provoking and inspiring. Highly recommend.

Historia
When the body of 28-year-old social worker Kera Jacobsen shows up on Chief New York City Medical Examiner Laurie Montgomery's autopsy table, at first it appears she was the victim of a tragic yet routine drug overdose. But for Laurie and her new pathology resident, the brilliant but enigmatic Dr. Aria Nichols, little things aren't adding up. Kera's family and friends swear she never touched drugs. Administrators from the hospital where Kera worked are insisting the case be shrouded in silence. And although Kera was 10 weeks pregnant, nobody seems to know who the father was.

Classic Robin Cook!
Revisado: 04-23-20
I love Robin Cook’s medical thrillers, especially the earlier works. The Jack and Laurie series is my favorite so I really appreciated this continuation of that series. Of course you have to use your imagination a little to make the story plausible but that is the fun of fiction. Thank you for another great read that is relatively clean!

It’s 1996, and Reacher is still in the army. In the morning they give him a medal, and in the afternoon they send him back to school. That night he’s off the grid. Out of sight, out of mind. Two other men are in the classroom—an FBI agent and a CIA analyst. Each is a first-rate operator, each is fresh off a big win, and each is wondering what the hell they are doing there. Then they find out: A Jihadist sleeper cell in Hamburg, Germany, has received an unexpected visitor—a Saudi courier, seeking safe haven while waiting to rendezvous with persons unknown.

Not as good as the other Reacher stories
Revisado: 01-21-20
I like the Jack Reacher series, but this one may be my least favorite. Seemed to move kinda slow. Also, more sexually explicit and just plain gross at times.

Revisado: 06-12-16
I generally like the Reacher books, and this one helps explain some of Reacher's background, so I'm glad I listened. But it has quite a convoluted, totally unbelievable plot. I also prefer the stories that are told in third person rather than first person. Most of the book is dialogue between Jack and his

Good listen, but not quite as good as the previous Robin Cook books. I love this narrator but the editing needs some editing! It would jump to the next chapter without a pause and it felt like you were missing something.
