When Vanessa Price quit her job to pursue her dream of traveling the globe, she wasn't expecting to gain millions of YouTube followers. Her mother and sister never saw the age of 30, and Vanessa doesn't want to take anything for granted. This was my favorite book of the series! The narrators were definitely two of the best I’ve ever listened to. Such a great story!

Historia
New York, 1898. The only thing more shocking than Arthur Stanhope III’s unexpected death is the revelation that his will bestows his company—and most of the vast fortune that goes with it—to the nearest male heir, leaving his mother, wife, and daughter nearly impoverished. His widow, Sylvia, quickly realizes she must set aside her grief to ensure their daughter, Adelaide, is launched into society as soon as the appropriate mourning period passes.

Historia
The last thing Jake Bryan knew was the roar of the World Trade Center collapsing on top of him and his fellow firefighters. The man in the hospital bed remembers nothing. Not rushing with his teammates up the stairway of the south tower to help trapped victims. Not being blasted from the building. And not the woman by his bedside. Jamie Bryan will do anything to help her beloved husband regain his memory, and with it their storybook family life with their daughter, Sierra. But that means helping Jake rediscover the one thing Jamie has never shared with him: his deep faith in God.

Almost didn’t finish
Revisado: 09-05-24
Let me say first that I’m a huge Karen Kingsbury fan!! This is a book I just hadn’t gotten around to listening to. I have a bad habit of needing to know how a bad movie ends and I guess the same was true with this audiobook. I’m not sure necessarily if it was the story, but 100% the narrators practically ruined it for me. Even halfway through I wasn’t sure that I could finish it. It ends better than it started, but if the sequel has the same narrators, I don’t think I can do it.

Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Yep! This book literally had me bawling. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. The story, the narrators - just awesome! This is my first Rebecca Yarros book, but it definitely won’t be my last. Amazing!

Historia
As a senior acquisitions editor for Fog Harbor Books in San Francisco, Ingrid Erikson has rejected many a manuscript for lack of defined conflict and dramatic irony—two elements her current life possesses in spades. In the months following the death of her childhood best friend and international bestselling author Cece Campbell, Ingrid has not only lost her ability to escape into fiction due to a rare trauma response, but she's also desperate to find the closure she is convinced will come with Cece's missing final manuscript.

Love and forgiveness
Revisado: 04-05-24
This was a beautiful story of redeemed love and the healing forgiveness will bring. I loved the characters, the performance and the story. It would make a wonderful movie! This is my third book by this author and she is now one of my favorites.

Unthinkable story
Revisado: 03-15-24
Admittedly after starting this book, I had to check if there was more than one Karen Kingsbury because this book is unlike any of her other books I’ve listened to. Despite being so different, it was a very good book and I can’t imagine if this had been my daughter. The main reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I missed the faith element that so many of her other books include, which always inspires me.

Mary Chinn lived through most of the 20th century, and well into the 21st. At 80 years old, this astonishing woman finished compiling notes from her diaries into a beautifully layered series of vignettes, “written with love” for her family. Here you will find historical accounts of blizzards, revival meetings, travel by train and tired Model-T Ford, one-room school-houses, a war time romance, and a jailor who cried.

Priceless family treasure
Revisado: 11-08-23
These are stories about my grandma read by my cousin. What a unique experience that not many in life will have. I’ve heard so many of these stories directly from my grandma when she was alive. To hear them read to me brought them all to life. I laughed. I cried and although I have this book, I loved it even more in audiobook form. Well done Kara!!

This was an amazing story of the journey of suffering the consequences of sin, but also the healing power of forgiveness and restoration over time. Only God can make beauty from ashes. I enjoyed the paralleling stories from the 1940s to present day.
