Historia
As the sole heir to her family’s banking empire, a lot is expected of Madison Prescott. Falling in love with her childhood friend Ana Perez was not in the cards. As Madison’s father puts it, “A gay daughter? Married to the maid’s daughter? Running my company? Over my dead body.” By the time George Prescott dies, it’s been 15 years since Madison and Ana were ripped apart by his lies. They haven’t spoken since, but Madison has spent every minute waiting for this day to come. Unfortunately, it turns out time doesn’t heal all wounds.

Great Story, Disappointing Narration
Revisado: 06-03-19
I listened to this book but almost wish that I had ordered the Kindle version and read it instead. I enjoyed the story very much. It was typical of many romances -- found love, lost love, angst, rediscovered love -- a formula that works for fans of this genre. Elle Spencer did not disappoint on this front. If found the main characters -- Maddie and Ana -- easy to like and I felt as though the 'reader' (or in this case listener) got to know the characters very well. The big disappointment for me was in the narration each time Ana's mother spoke, The accent adopted by the narrator for this character (who was from Mexico) was about as far from a Latina accent as one could imagine. Each time I heard her speak, I pictured someone from the Caribbean, as (to me) the accent was much closer to a Jamaican or perhaps even Haitian accent than Latina. Not the end of the world, but when listening, this is an important aspect of the story telling. I think it would have been more effective to use her normal accent than to use an accent that did not represent the character's true nationality. Lori Prince is a good narrator and this is the first time that I have had an issue with her narration. All of this aside, I would highly recommend this book and I plan to download the Kindle version to read. This is my second read by Elle Spencer and I plan to read her other books in the near future.

Historia
Gina Antonelli had big dreams once, of riding her athletic achievements all the way to West Point and being the first in a long family line of soldiers to serve as an officer. When that dream died along with the girl she'd planned to marry one day, she'd vowed to forget about happily ever afters. When Gina agrees to renovate Carrie's soon-to-be new house as a favor to her brother's boss, she doesn't welcome Carrie's overtures at friendship or her own unexpected attraction.

Not Radclyffe's Best
Revisado: 12-21-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would not highly recommend it as I would with many of Radclyffe's books. I enjoy the Rivers series (and most of Rad's other work), but this story felt a bit rushed to me - and more contrived than some of her other romances. While we got to know Carrie a bit better than in prior books, she seemed much different than I expected. She does not strike me as someone who would say they were well on the road to falling in love after such a short time. The narrator on this book did not help. I actually thought I had set the speed to slow down speech and had to check. She was difficult to listen to in many parts of the book.
Would you be willing to try another book from Radclyffe? Why or why not?
Yes. I have read most of her work and generally enjoy her stand alone books as well as the series she has published.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Paige McKinney?
Abby Craden;
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Maybe.

Historia
Twenty-eight-year-old Brooklyn Campbell is having a bad day. A speeding ticket, a towed car, and a broken heel are all working against her laid-back vibe. To top it all off, her birth mother, whom she's never met, has requested contact. The only bright spot is an impromptu date with a beautiful and mysterious brunette. Jessica Lennox is what you would call a high-powered executive. She's the head of a multimillion-dollar advertising firm in New York City, and it didn't happen by accident.

Worst "Brooklyn" Accent Ever!
Revisado: 02-01-16
What made the experience of listening to Kiss the Girl the most enjoyable?
As with other Melissa Brayden's books, I enjoyed the story line. I like the characters and enjoyed the evolving romance. What I did not enjoy is the accent that the reader used when Brooklyn was speaking. It was not even close to a 'Brooklyn' accent. It sounded more like a bad Boston accent. I found this both distracting and annoying.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jessica. I like that she is multi-faceted. I also like the way she works to make herself a better person.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Felicity Munroe?
Maybe Nicole Valencia, Abby Craden
Any additional comments?
Looking forward to reading or listening to the other books in this series. I have enjoyed each of Melissa Braden's books so far.

Historia
Sarah Matamoros can’t complain. After immigrating from Mexico when she was nine years old, she’s content with the life she’s made for herself in sunny San Diego. She works hard at her mother’s housecleaning service by day and spends the evenings with her quirky eight-year-old daughter, Grace. From a very young age, Emory Owen had several concepts drilled into her head. Success is everything. Be the best. Fight your way to the top. Expectations were high in the Owen household and the world was watching. Born into a high society family, Emory never wanted for anything...at least anything money could buy.

Narrator is the Worst!
Revisado: 04-15-14
What disappointed you about Cut to the Chase?
I was not able to get through more than 2 chapters of this book. The narrator's voice and intonation was awful. I tried on two separate occasions to listen to more of this book, and I just couldn't get any further.
How could the performance have been better?
I don't mean to be disrespectful to the narrator, but her voice just did not work for this book. She was monotone, and I also felt like she was reading a children's book at times. As stated above, I could only get through two chapters after multiple tries.
Any additional comments?
I gave the story 3 stars because I didn't think it was fair to the author to penalize her for the narrator's poor performance. I cannot really rate the story because I couldn't finish it!
