"He came out of the earth hating. Hate was his father; hate was his mother."
Ray Bradbury's Pillar of Fire is a touring theatrical reading by Emmy Award winner Bill Oberst Jr., abridged from Bradbury's dark, violent, and poetic novella of the same name. In this exclusive production for Audible, Oberst recreates an award-winning stage performance of the tale Bradbury called "a rehearsal for Fahrenheit 451."

Bill does an excellent job of bringing Ray Bradbury's words to life! I highly recommend this reading to anyone that is a fan of Bradbury's stories!

Historia
A little girl fades into the whispers of the wind. She was thrown into a beautiful haze of chaos. Lost. Alone. Hungry. "Will anyone save me?" This is the true life story of a little girl, a box, a few Russians, a bottle of whiskey, and a song of sorrow. Life is hard. You're born, you fall, you rise, and then after it all your life fades into the sands of time. Ashes to Ashes.....dust to dust. In the end we all fall down. When you fall what will you be remembered for?

Nicely Written & Narrated Book
Revisado: 10-06-16
I really like Blue's writings although this one was really heartbreaking hearing all she has had to go through and endure for someone so young. I loved how she addressed the readers of the book directly, this was such a nice touch. Bill Oberst Jr.'s narration was terrific. Once again he really brings Blue's words to life.

Historia
"I once was homeless, hungry, and afraid. I was cast away by society, deemed a street urchin not worth their time. I felt as if I was a ghost fading into the wind. Over the years, homeless people have been looked at as a problem. When in truths, they are not. They are not a political issue or a scourge. When I was homeless I came across a wide range of people. With stories that deserve to be told. Maybe these poems will change something.... Maybe they won't.... All that matters is that they change you."

Poignant Poems
Revisado: 10-03-16
This collection of poems is very poignant & gives listeners a glimpse into the lives of the people who are homeless, who they are, where they came from. Ms Balcita is a talented writer & I look forward to hearing & reading more of her work. Mr Oberst did a fine job of bringing Ms Balcita's words to life.
