Just OK
Revisado: 03-21-06
Not bad, not great either. The basic plot is intriguing. Patterson gets "A" for imagination. However it is too lose and lacks suspense in too many places. A good portion of this book dives into too many aspects of Cross's personal life - which was distracting from the plot, and honestly, rather dull.
Narration is good with sound effects. It's the same guy who has read most of the other Cross books.
Overall, the book gets a passing grade - but you may decide to pass on it.

Acceptable
Revisado: 02-27-06
It is a fast paced story with the famous Alex Cross. The plot is far fetched but most people could be suspended in disbelief for a few hours - especially when the book moves fast.
The narration is excellent. Clear and dramatic pronounciations.
Overall, it is not great, but not bad either. It is not the best Alex Cross story, but it is an "acceptable" listen.

Depicting American justice at its best and worst, The Prosecutors lifts the lid off today's legal system with details that are more shocking and graphic than any television show or best-selling novel.

Good listen overall but...
Revisado: 07-10-05
The book follows one major trial and two unrelated events in the course of a year in Sacramento DA's office, with personalities and insights woven into the developments.
The book is fast paced and engaging overall, although at times the author essentially reades the trial transcript and the reading can become dull. The book is particularly a good read for someone interested in becoming a prosecutor or at the very beginning of a legal career. I also recommend this book for working out - the pace is fast and the stories are engaging to keep you going on the eliptical machine.
My one complaint is the book does not offer very much about the politics of the DA's office. (maybe special contractual agreements?) At the core, the book is about lawyers and trial work, not the machinations of the office.
The reading is pleasant enough. The language is crude at times but that is a part and parcel of trial lingo. Overall, it is a good listen for a curious mind.

The ultimate rush for a doctor should come from saving a life, but for Dr. Michael Swango, taking his patients' lives was the key to job satisfaction. Swango plead guilty Wednesday to charges of killing three patients in a Long Island hospital. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Listen to how the medical establishment turned a Blind Eye on Dr. Death in this riveting investigation from Pulitzer Prize-winner James B. Stewart.

Good listen
Revisado: 05-05-04
The writing is engaging and straightforward. The book is a factual account of one man's pschopathic behavior, in spite of his talents and intelligence. The pace of the development is appropriate, not too slow or hurried. The narrator has a deep and somewhat manicured voice which I found pleasant.
Overall I would recommend the book, especially to those fascinated with the human mind.

Historia
The Dupayne, a small private museum in London devoted to the interwar years 1919 - 1939, is in turmoil. As its trustees argue over whether it should be closed, one of them is brutally and mysteriously murdered. Yet even as Commander Dalgliesh and his team proceed with their investigation, a second corpse is discovered. Someone in the Dupayne is prepared to kill and kill again. Still more sinister, the murders appear to echo the notorious crimes of the past featured in one of the museum’s galleries: the Murder Room.

Murder Room
Revisado: 12-07-03
Classic P.D. James. The book is not for the hurried. The characters are full blood and flesh and fully developed, not mere charicatures. The story line was believable and the language was even tempered. I enjoyed the pace but some may call it slow. I would recommend it if as a rule you enjoy 20th century English classics such as S.W.Maugham or Christie.

While in Paris, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is awakened by a phone call in the dead of the night. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, his body covered in baffling symbols. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci—clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.

Great listen on the go.
Revisado: 10-05-03
The book was a great deal of fun. If you are looking for something to listen to while jogging or walking or pumping the stairmaster - this is your book. The abrideged version was 6 hours of great entertainment. Overall, the plot is tight, the pace was the good, and the narration was better than average. The book made time go by unnoticeably - I reached my destination or finished my workout before I knew it.
