Honestly pretty satisfying but also somewhat disappointing
Revisado: 12-05-23
It's over, the story wraps up nice and feels pretty satisfying, it's somewhat disappointing in that a lot isn't what the main character does, he's more of a participant in many ways, and a large portion of the book isn't the strategy type battles books 1 and 2 led me to believe, honestly going to miss this series.

Book one is decent, book Two is iffy, couldn't finish book three
Revisado: 11-16-23
Book one is fun with a cool concept, a solid system, and likable enough characters that I can enjoy, Book Two goes a bit off the rails but manages things well though the villain isn't exactly riveting, Book three is a meandering mess where they hamfist in their multiverse and focus on lots of nonsense that nobody asked for such as adding a whole sci fi side character in a mech suit, all in all another victim of good opening books that are brought down by the entire rest of the series

Revisado: 11-14-23
The Main character is unbelievably talented and powerful for his level due to hard work, talent, and support from his family but it doesn't help him that much, in fact half the time it makes his problems worse

Historia
For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Amazing, narrators fairy voice drags it down
Revisado: 08-28-23
It's arguably the best dungeon core book out there, just be aware the voice used for the fairy becomes grating and painful very quickly

Historia
Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

Story is fine but cards barely play a role
Revisado: 07-25-23
This is not what you think when you hear "deck building", there's none of that, it's a fine story all things considered but there is barely any actual interaction with deck building and cards as a concept, they could be any object that happens to have magic and serve precisely the same role

overall very inconsistent
Revisado: 07-06-23
The reader had some really good voices but main character was in a permanent state of making loud declarations, the core and Oswald are good voices for example but some characters sound like they're constantly shouting even when supposedly muttering. The story had some very weird sticking points but overall was pretty good.

Revisado: 06-15-23
I'm gonna warn you now, there's a few retcons, mainly from the fact that it seems like the author came up with Influence Points after book 1 and liked them so much they're attributing things from back then to the Points

Historia
Surviving the first days of the apocalypse, William is a wreck and hiding in an attic. The daily acid storms, floating elementals, and bizarre mutated animals are the least of his problems. The reality-warping apocalypse has rules and a system much like those in video games. To survive, he must learn how the new uncooperative system works, choose a class without any real knowledge of what it does and create a place safe from the spawning horrors.

Shares a lot with Defiance of the Fall, but better
Revisado: 04-25-23
If you enjoyed Defiance of the Fall but found the way the character was handed literally everything that wasn't gotten from overpowering lower level enemies due to aforementioned silver platter so far this book is gonna be your best bet, it's small but makes the main character infinitely more tolerable

Half the book is missing
Revisado: 04-17-23
From unexplained time skips to problems that, by the rules of the setting, should be easily solved are treated as permanent, every interaction is rushed, lore is just stumbled across, everything is dealt with basically off-screen and the questions are so poorly answered it feels like a joke, to go from the 7th realm to this is the most jarring drop in quality in existence. Do not buy this book.
Two listens later because I love the series before this and, yeah this is just a slap in the face, if you pay attention you'll feel what I meant when I say it's like someone wrote a decent book then just removed 3/4 of it and decided to sell it like that, the set ups could've been interesting but either get solved off screen or are jokes like the "why do you fight" answers, it's an insult to your intelligence that they assumed you'd just roll with what happens in this book
