Grayson Hawthorne was raised as the heir apparent to his billionaire grandfather, taught from the cradle to put family first. Now the great Tobias Hawthorne is dead and his family disinherited, but some lessons linger. When Grayson’s half-sisters find themselves in trouble, he swoops in to do what he does best: take care of the problem—efficiently, effectively, mercilessly. Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Revisado: 06-06-24
I gave the story 5 stars, based on the Kindle version. I couldn't handle the cadence in which the narrator reads this book so I didn't get very far with the audible version. I recommend listening to a sample first and reading it through Kindle if the narration bothers you as well.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Two thumbs up! What a fairy tale it was...
Revisado: 06-06-24
Stephen King's 'Fairy Tale' feels like two books in one. You can't even begin to guess where this book is going to take you. I love the unpredictability of the story. I highly recommend it.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

This is a great example of the Butterfly Effect. The characters go back in time to try to rewrite history and it shows how small or big changes ripple out in ways you couldn't imagine. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the name of the town they traveled to. It connects to another famous Stephen King thriller. So cool.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Crazy!
Revisado: 06-01-23
To Jennette: thank you for sharing your story and continuing to share it on podcasts, etc.. Its incredibly brave. I'm sure it's helped many who've had similar experiences speak openly about their own lives.
To readers: This might be a hard read for those who have/do struggle with an eating disorder. It brought me back to some of the darker times in my life.
Overall, good story. I would've liked to hear more about her recovery process and how her siblings coped with everything. I'm really glad there's a positive ending for her. She put in the work and deserves all the happiness.
I agree that the narration is lacking emotion but...i think this book HAD to be read by Jennette.
If it bothers you, change the speed to 1.2.

It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Honesty always wins in my book
Revisado: 05-16-23
Prince Harry, Thank you for sharing your life story with the world. It's beautifully written and narrated. I cried, felt anger, and laughed out loud. You ARE brilliant, brave, adventurous, & driven. You and Meg are AMAZING human beings. If I could vote for the next king and queen, I'd vote for you two.
I hope your extended family has a moment of self reflection after they read it. They all could've done better.
They need to set aside egos, racism, and false narratives and try harder to love and support one another UNCONDITIONALLY.
I hope they can adapt a zero tolerance approach to toxic media outlets and their representatives. Someone needs to set the standard.
I'm surprised by the 1 star reviews. It appears to be from people who think the rich and royal don't have a right to talk about the impact this life style can have on mental health. Regardless of how privileged one may be, we all need someone to love and support us unconditionally. We all know the media can be relentless and the fake news they publish destroys families, careers, freedom, and mental health. People need to remember the rich, famous, and royal are human beings as well. The silver spoon collection will not change that.
