Historia
The days of adventure are passed for Auric Manteo. Retired to the countryside and isolated with his scars and riches, he no longer delves into forbidden ruins seeking dark wisdom and treasure. But just as old nightmares begin plaguing his sleep, he receives an urgent summons back to that old life. To save his only daughter, he must return to the place of his greatest trauma: the haunted Barrowlands.

Historia
I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep. My name is Kvothe. You may have heard of me.

A great story but Rupert degas is a godly narrator. Truly he is up there with Page, Pacey and Rudniki. Bravo!

Not a bad performance, just dull.
Revisado: 10-31-17
Doesn't do the story any justice or favours to new comers of the series. More of a Sci Fi narrator I suspect, did not fit this story.

Druss, Captain of the Axe: the stories of his life were told everywhere. Instead of the wealth and fame he could have claimed, he had chosen a mountain lair, high in the lonely country bordering on the clouds. There the grizzled old warrior kept company with snow leopards and awaited his old enemy, death.

An epic that stands the test of time
Revisado: 07-06-17
Legend isn't the best book, it's not perfect and its not life changing at all. But it is keystone in fantasy and has all the ingredients you need to cook up a great fantasy story. Gemmell is a legend and this book is testament to his work and love for the craft. Any fantasy fan who doesn't shy away from the darker side should endeavour to tick this tale off the list. Narration is very well suited to the tone of the story and range is ample for the characters.

Ringil Eskiath, scarred wielder of the kiriath-forged broadsword Ravensfriend, is a man on the run - from his past and the family who have disowned him, from the slave trade magnates of Trelayne who want him dead, and apparently from the dark gods themselves, who are taking an interest but making no more sense than they ever have.

Spell binding writing, truly amazing word craft
Revisado: 12-12-16
I'm not often or easily impressed, little more so these days by the vast amounts of fantasy fiction out there. However, Richard Morgan is a serial risk taker, a devils who goes outside the lines at every opportunity. Only 1 in a million can do this and it pay off everytime, that's exactly what Morgan is. I thought Steel Remains was a great book, and it is, but what do I call The Cold Commands? Nothing short of an excellent book by a brilliantly talented author who has one of the most vivid imaginations I've ever had the pleasure of being able to explore.
Simon Vance is another surprise here, an absolute professional and master story teller. All the range this type of story needs and a perfect paring for the series.
I am beyond impressed, this is fantastic book and an incredibly brilliant story I will enjoy again and again.

Revisado: 10-05-16
I couldn't finish this, it was bad and then laughable. Nick Pohdel is a great narrator and shouldn't have lent his talents to this. I honestly couldn't tell if this was satire and gave it till about half way. If you like over powered anime tier characters with cringe worthy love story, knock yourself out.

Not the adult fiction I was expecting from Abercrombie. The performance was however refreshing and kept it alive until the end. Bravo.
