Historia
In the late '80s and early '90s, Steve Turner and his friends—Seattle skate punks, hardcore kids, and assorted misfits—started forming bands in each other’s basements and accidentally created a unique sound that spread far beyond their once-sleepy city. Mud Ride offers an inside look at the tight-knit grunge scene, the musical influences and experiments that shaped the grunge sound, and the story of Turner's bands, Green River and Mudhoney.

Fun to listen to Floyd reading Turner here
Revisado: 10-22-23
I feel provoked to thought. My keys here are one the author gives a great show of what healthy personal boundaries are plus his love of fun and also attitude of fairness in business completely clear, and two the reader well enhances the writer’s craftsmanship with his own sensitive reading and enjoyment of the language of grunge music. I personally relate well to the story itself for I am a fan of this musical form.

As Virginia watched her son's star rise, she often wondered about the other mothers who raised sons and daughters who became rock stars. Just like this, I just like this
Revisado: 10-16-23
Enjoyable, an outstanding amateur author doing biographies of our contemporary Mothers who have come face to face with the obstacles imposed on a great many of us in what I consider a great American anti-culture movement instilled from the top down. Her pride, passion, and her powers touched me immediately as the narration began. Thank you to the author of this book.

Historia
First published in 1927, Men Without Women represents some of Hemingway's most important and compelling early writing. In these 14 stories, Hemingway begins to examine the themes that would occupy his later works: the casualties of war, the often uneasy relationship between men and women, sport and sportsmanship.

I like this
Revisado: 05-24-22
I like the recording, it reveals the craft of the writer and the depth of the human voice in a time when men had begun to reflect on the problem of men without women I guess. Ambivalence? I think anyone interested in the art of being a chronicler of your place and time could fine this stuff either enjoyable or helpful.

Sy Montgomery's popular 2011 Orion magazine piece, "Deep Intellect", about her friendship with a sensitive, sweet-natured octopus named Athena and the grief she felt at her death, went viral, indicating the widespread fascination with these mysterious, almost alien-like creatures. Since then Sy has practiced true immersion journalism, from New England aquarium tanks to the reefs of French Polynesia and the Gulf of Mexico, pursuing these wild, solitary shape-shifters.

I did enjoy this work with pleasure
Revisado: 08-03-20
Here, the reader is the writer, and the writer is the explorer, and the explorer is the friend of many octopuses and human beings from aquarium to boat to the wild ocean.
I like the feeling I had while listening, the story- telling provoked my imagination to see, and I experienced a small change in my attitude.
I didn’t like...I don’t remember, too much to like here. glad to learn from the courageous author about being in a graceful way with the known unknown.
A good ocean book, I like this book
