Historia
The Finch sisters once spent long, hot summers exploring the dozens of abandoned properties littering their dying town—until they found an impossible home with an endless hall of doors … and three keys left waiting for them. Curious, fearless, they stepped inside their chosen rooms and experienced horrors they never dared speak of again. Now, years later, youngest sister Claire has been discovered dead in that old, desiccated house. Haunted by their sister’s suicide and the memories of a past they’ve struggled to forget, Meg and Esther find themselves at bitter odds.

The narrator did a fantastic job
Revisado: 11-13-24
I really find that narrators do a lot to help a story out. I found the first half of the book enthralling but the intrigue fizzled out for me. The narrator did a great job holding up the story for me.

Gripping story
Revisado: 03-26-24
Loved all of it, except for how the book ended.
I feel like there is so much buildup, and then the ending just kind of fizzled out

Historia
It's August 1984, and paperboy Christopher Stewart has gone missing. Hours later, 12-year-old Sammy Cox hurries home from his own paper route, red-faced and out of breath, hiding a terrible secret. Crystal, Sammy's 17-year-old sister, is worried by the disappearance but she also sees an opportunity: the Stewart case has echoes of an earlier unsolved disappearance of another boy, one town over. Crystal senses the makings of an award-winning essay, one that could win her a scholarship - and a ticket out of their small Iowa town.

Overall captivating
Revisado: 02-29-24
The book was pretty decent. I don’t know if I’d call it a thriller but maybe more of a mystery.
It was quick to get through and forward moving almost throughout the entire story.
The ending was good.
The only downside I’d say is that the MC is an 18 year old girl who wants to be a journalist and is chasing the story of a missing boy. Idk, that part seemed a little ridiculous to me but it wasn’t so unbelievable I couldn’t get through it.

A couple that loved too much
Revisado: 01-22-24
I liked the performance, I thought the narrator did a great job.
The story I think was good but the ending was…. I guess the twist? I don’t know if I’d call this a thriller like I’ve seen somewhere listed as.

It was alright.
Revisado: 03-06-22
It was an alright story. Extremely repetitive. Same phrases and same ideas just regurgitated over the span of the book.
