The last in the Afrolit Now series, The Sins of The Fathers by Zukiswa Wanner is narrated by a man dealing with immense grief. When he’s unable to heal from the trauma of loss, Akani begins to question his and his father’s role as a parent and, in doing so, awakens to the patterns between them. In trying to avoid being like his father as a husband and as a parent, did he inadvertently become exactly the man he wished not to be? And what secrets lie untold? As he grieves, he wonders whether he was ill-advised to keep secrets that may unwittingly hurt his family.

The Sins of the Fathers was a beautifully written, and narrated book. A lovely story and lesson on the art of reflection.

A very short yet thorough book. I will definitely listen to/read more from this author.
The narrator was a perfect choice.

A good book that needs audio editing.
Revisado: 06-14-22
This is a good and informative book. The TD Jakes has clearly taken time to research and carefully write what is on his heart. There is much wisdom and insight found here. The problem is the narrator. Though he has a lovely voice, the producers did not bother to edit Paul Richardson’s umms, and uhhh and stumbles throughout the book. At times it sounds as if Mr. Richardson has just taken a gulp of water and is trying to catch his breath. It’s extremely distracting and takes away from the blessings that are clearly written herein.

Historia
Patrick Lencioni once again offers a leadership fable that is as enthralling and instructive as his first two best-selling books, The Five Temptations of a CEO and The Four Obsessions of an Extraordinary Executive. This time, he turns his keen intellect and storytelling power to the fascinating, complex world of teams.

Poor quality
Revisado: 10-03-19
The book was excellent! The reader was fantastic! The editing team obviously DID NOT read this book! Entire paragraphs of the written book were left out. There were repeats. There was a place where the narrator sounded frustrated! I would suggest Katherine come in and do a little team building!

Historia
In Gay Girl, Good God, author Jackie Hill Perry shares her own story, offering practical tools that helped her in the process of finding wholeness. Jackie grew up fatherless and experienced gender confusion. She embraced masculinity and homosexuality with every fiber of her being. She knew that Christians had a lot to say about all of the above. But was she supposed to change herself? How was she supposed to stop loving women, when homosexuality felt more natural to her than heterosexuality ever could?

Outstanding!
Revisado: 03-19-19
This book is not at all what I expected it to be. It’s not about how God can make a lesbian become a Christian. This book is about the relationship God desires to have with all of His children! ”Gay Girl, Good God” will remind some and instruct others that God’s love is so deep and far-reaching that it can pierce the heart, soul and mind of anyone, gay or straight . The author does not in any way condemn those who are attracted to the same sex. She simply tells a very personal story about God’s grace.
Thank you Jackie, for sharing your praise with the world!
