Historia
I've never been in love. I've never had an orgasm, but I've faked plenty. I want to experience love. Real, passionate love. I don't want to die. It's funny what blurts out of your mouth when the plane you're on is going down, and I didn't hold back with my seat mate when my plane decided to crash. My hysterical confessions didn't faze the muscular stranger that sat beside me. In fact, he promised if we survived, he'd give me my first orgasm.

DNF- Contrived Conflict = Eye Roll
Revisado: 07-03-24
I sincerely hope there are not real people with this level of passivity and lack of self respect.
In this case the main character suffers from martyr syndrome, and self inflicted silence while surrounded by a bunch of unlikable nemesis. Her dad and a co-worker are unreal saboteurs which she allows while mooning over a guy she treats with mixed messages.
As a reader, living inside this characters POV is so painful, I opted to bail.

Excellent Narration-Ok Story if you like toil
Revisado: 05-03-24
The narrator did fantastic, and the mood was enhanced with the rolling thunder chapter breaks.
The Premise is great, the main character is mostly likable, but the use of holding back specific secrets when the cat is out of the bag, as the means to introduce conflict, makes for a frustrating and predictable slog through the last couple of chapters before ending in a cliffhanger.
Which makes for a dissatisfied listener.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

All guts and accidental Glory
Revisado: 10-16-23
Personally I love a good antihero. And yeah, I might have imagined a young Bruce Willis while reading this. The byplay between characters is quick and entertaining, the science is not really there, but the adventure more than makes up for the “eh, just call it magic” gap in creatively explained advanced science concepts of a fictional variety approach this writer used.
The narration was great, though I confess I speed mine up, and feel it just makes the repartee sound that much snappier.

Magical
Revisado: 10-01-22
I’ve read this book numerous times, so of course I love the story. I would also be very picky about the narration seeing as until now it was my own inner voice preforming that service.
This book deserves words like “prose”, the descriptions create an ambiance and is written in a way to allow your imagination to be be fed and create visuals unique to you. Therefore the audible version doesn’t need sound effects or acting, and this narration was perfect.

Historia
David Osage is a dangerous man with a complicated past, but these days he’s just trying to keep his head down, driving big rigs. Until one night, when he saddles himself with a hitchhiker - a nuisance who’s more than she seems - and everything changes. No one was ready for an alien invasion. Death is raining from the sky, and the only question left is whether you run, fight, or submit. For David Osage and his family, answering is as easy as giving the alien invaders the finger.

I will use a credit for book 2
Revisado: 09-30-22
It starts fairly dry, and I always have a bit of trouble with an anti hero that has some murderous background, but at the point we are introduced, makes only heroic choices with a “for someone else’s good”decision tree… seems like cheating.
The premise is good, it takes way too long for the alien agenda to be laid out, and the center characters secrets and plots to converge. So basically this is like a series of car chases and running while following one of three characters, and right when you should get some satisfaction that some small element has come together-the end. So I will give book 2 a credit try, but am only rating this one three stars.

Great premise
Revisado: 09-28-22
A short story on circumstance. Not enough to do any real character development, but would make a strong segue between one chapter and the next in a book I would love to read!

Historia
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

Fitting
Revisado: 09-13-22
I withheld one star simply because it was too short. There was nothing to aid the reader in applying a length of time between events, which resulted in the story feeling like it’s entirety took place in a week, and was a skip, hop, and Jump from beginning to end. The Narration was perfect, and the characters development keeping with the original with exception to the length of time and smaller details needed to keep their redemption realistic.

DNF- underwhelmed
Revisado: 08-08-22
It’s not bad, but it isn’t great either. So far the narration is strong, nothing to complain about there. The story is predictable in its trope, but offers nothing particularly interesting to keep your attention. You could end it a quarter of the way through with so he gets his money because they like each other and are physically compatible. The end. I don’t know this for a fact because I’m not going to finish listening… but I’d be surprised to learn otherwise…. And still have no regrets in not finishing the book.

Historia
Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases - a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with as well as way less experience in the dating department than the average 30-year-old. It doesn't help that she has Asperger's and that French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. She decides that she needs lots of practice - with a professional - which is why she hires escort Michael Phan.

Meh
Revisado: 04-14-22
While the narration is fine, the story was not particularly interesting. The chemistry between the main characters was never particularly believable, and the conflict felt forced. I couldn’t finish, I’d have to start over entirely because I found myself tuning out accidentally.

Grating noise
Revisado: 04-03-22
The chime or keyboard notes are fine, but the grinding white noise attempt overpowers both the voice and chime sounds enough to be distracting, it isn’t the so much as the volume in comparison to the others.
