Historia
Written at the request of Charles Dickens, North and South is a book about rebellion that poses fundamental questions about the nature of social authority and obedience. Gaskell expertly blends individual feeling with social concern and her heroine, Margaret Hale, is one of the most original creations of Victorian literature. When Margaret Hale's father leaves the Church in a crisis of conscience she is forced to leave her comfortable home in the tranquil countryside of Hampshire....

Amazing for the majority…

**Spoiler** Fantastic exploration of class and gender in industrial mid 19th century. Unfortunately fairy tale ending spoils an otherwise realistic depiction. Exceptional narration that shifts dialects convincingly as needed.

Takes liberties sanitizing

More a Disney-fied approach to Greco-Roman myths, but impressive amount of tales exposed in an entertaining narration.

Historia
An American Iliad in the guise of contemporary political reportage, What It Takes penetrates the mystery at the heart of all presidential campaigns: How do presumably ordinary people acquire that mixture of ambition, stamina, and pure shamelessness that makes a true candidate? As he recounts the frenzied course of the 1988 presidential race, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Richard Ben Cramer comes up with the answers, in a book that is vast, exhaustively researched, exhilarating, and sometimes appalling in its revelations.

Not as Insider Look as Expected

Thought it would have more intimate accounts. Seems to cover what would have generally been known in headlines or what campaign teams would have allowed.

Historia
Animals plainly know where they're going, but how they get there has remained surprisingly mysterious - until now. In Supernavigators, award-winning author David Barrie catches us up on the cutting-edge science. Here are astounding animals of every stripe: Dung beetles that steer by the light of the Milky Way. Ants and bees that rely on patterns of light invisible to humans. Sea turtles and moths that find their way using Earth's magnetic field. Humpback whales that swim thousands of miles while holding a rock-steady course.

What would the world look like if everybody had everything they wanted or needed? Trekonomics, the premier book in financial journalist Felix Salmon's imprint PiperText, approaches scarcity economics by coming at it backward - through thinking about a universe where scarcity does not exist. Delving deep into the details and intricacies of 24th-century society, Trekonomics explores post-scarcity and whether we, as humans, are equipped for it.

For the True Star Trek Fan
Revisado: 07-28-17
Heard the book on a road trip with a friend who's a major Trek fan. He loved the highlights of major Star Trek moments (Original Trek through movies) from an Econ perspective.
The author struggled at times finding equilibrium between either a naive or a jaded perspective of human future and motivations.
Narration was light and fun as performer playfully imitated the likes of Picard, Spock, and eventhe Terminator.

Very relatable story that made author relatable, repugnant, as well as inspiring. Performance also fantastic as author's range of emotions from being scared, spoiled, and resilient was well conveyed.
