Historia
Growing up Black in rural North Carolina, Ray McMillian’s life is already mapped out. But Ray has a gift and a dream—he’s determined to become a world-class professional violinist, and nothing will stand in his way. Not his mother, who wants him to stop making such a racket; not the fact that he can’t afford a violin suitable to his talents; not even the racism inherent in the world of classical music.

Exposing Tuths in life Through Strings and Chords
Revisado: 01-15-23
THE VIOLIN CONSPIRACY Is unique, enjoyable and at times painstakingly truthful. The storyline is distinctive and sadly uncommon for words like symphony and blackness joined togethor, but with valued interest they make a beautiful sound. The positive progression and attitudes in the young mans stages of life, will make you cheer for the main character throughout the book, and the twist in the end will leave you speechless.

A True Allegory Visually Expressed as a Fairytale
Revisado: 08-06-22
The true events written in the Bible came alive from the authors ability to show the more realistic colors and beauty of the people in Africa, and the cultures that can only be expressed through careful study of the historical times in the scriptures. Such detail went into the illustrations that it seemed as though one was reading a fairy- tale.

Historia
The New York Times Magazine’s award-winning “1619 Project” issue reframed our understanding of American history by placing slavery and its continuing legacy at the center of our national narrative. This new book substantially expands on that work, weaving together 18 essays that explore the legacy of slavery in present-day America with 36 poems and works of fiction that illuminate key moments of oppression, struggle, and resistance.

"When Truth Becomes Revolutionary "
Revisado: 02-13-22
The book 1619 is America's untold truth told through facts and poems, but it also showed creativity born out of oppression, and the jewels and treasures that continue to lay hidden in a society lacking value in understanding the true historical untreated trauma that occurs to African Americans today, doing so would be revolutionary...1619 is leading the way.

Historia
In The Half Has Never Been Told, historian Edward E. Baptist reveals the alarming extent to which slavery shaped our country politically, morally, and most of all, economically. Until the Civil War, our chief form of innovation was slavery. Through forced migration and torture, slave owners extracted continual increases in efficiency from their slaves, giving the country a virtual monopoly on the production of cotton, a key raw material of the Industrial Revolution.

Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

A good story that could fit the narrative for many of our country's citizens...if only they could talk about it.
