I did not finish this book. I read the first one and hoped this would be different, but the male characters were so ridiculous and bossy and entitled. Big turn off for me.

This book's heroine was at least less timid and more mature, but the way this man spoke to her wasn't alpha sexy, it was just mean. Insta-lust was so unrealistic, and I read alien abduction romance. I could not suspend my disbelief here. Not for me.

Narrators were good though.

I gave this five stars bc I think star ratings are pointless. Id rather just know what the book is about, so if entitled cocky alpha mountain men are your thing, if you love high steam, if you're into a ridiculous premise (I do actually), then you'll like this book.

This story is very sad up until the end. Literally the entire story could have been solved with a conversation, and it was, it just took a million hours. Not sexy like, at all. Sweet enough, but zero steam.

This book was great. The narrator does a pretty good job with the female voice. He also does a great job differentiating between the different characters.

It's very sexy and if you like the whole "possessive alien who can't help it because he's bonded to you" trope, then you're all set. Angie's pretty cool, strong considering what she's been through. I like how Milo pulled in all the other characters from other books, looking forward to reading the series.

I don't usually like slow burns, but I do when it's Olivia Dade. Her stories always develop each character on their own and show how they need to open up and own their own baggage, but also how they ultimately lift each other up. Alex and Wren are awesome characters. This book also helped me work through some body issues I didn't realize I had, that a beautiful man might find a woman with her body type attractive. He calls her the Venus of Willendorf and I cried at how much he wanted her. Not sure how realistic it is, but it helped me put some painful internalized misogyny to rest.

One of my favorites in the series

I love this series because it is the perfect escape for when you're stressed out. It's the book equivalent of comfort food in the form of big blue aliens with big blue... ahem... hearts.

I never expected to read much less love books about aliens, but they are the perfect book boyfriends. Utterly devoted to their females, the males long for home and hearth in a way that is not often portrayed in media. They are strong and gentle, fierce and caring.

I loooooove Liz and Rahosh. I also don't usually enjoy enemies to lovers, but the Fated Mates trope in this book really works to cover up some of the more problematic elements. these books allow you to indulge in some fantasies you might not want to admit to everyone, but do to safely. Ultimately they just don't understand one another. Liz is badass and stubborn and so is he. And these books are filthy hot too, this boom being no exception.

ENJOY.

Katee Robert did a great job with this title. It's almost straight erotica with just enough emotion to keep you invested. Super sexy, and I'm not even into Daddy kink. Jenny Nordback is a great narrator, kind of a lazy, vocal drawl that works well with this content. She elevates the hotness factor for sure. It's a fast listen. You'll be glad you have your hands free with this audiobook. Enjoy!

Great narrators, much sadder than I thought it would be toward the end when Josh's "past" is finally fully revealed. I do not like when a character's actual trauma is healed by a romantic relationship. That's a shitty way to portray someone dealing with a deep trauma and a lot of pressure to put on a relationship. I get that it's just a silly romance and I overall enjoyed it but there are a lot of authors out there who can depict this kind of thing with much more authenticity.

If you liked the other books in this series, you'll love Waylaid. Daphne and Ricky have a great connection that surprises you with its depth. You get to catch up with other members of the Shipley family. And as always, Bowen weaves in social issues seamlessly without being obvious about it. Really great portrayal of what therapy is like and what healing after trauma looks like. It's exactly what you've come to expect from Sarina Bowen.

Content warning: this story does deal with sexual assault so if that's triggering you might want to skip it.

I wanted to like this one but I couldn't get behind the male lead. His personality was too cocky and rude and I didn't understand why an awesome, successful woman would be attracted to him. I know some folks like this trope, but it's not for me. I did not finish this book.

This book surprised me. I normally hate a slow burn but the characters were so real and they had their own personal growth to do, and they also grew a drop friendship. It's definitely miss sweet and romantic than explicitly sexy. It's probably one of my faves this year.
