Better than the Venice book
Revisado: 11-01-24
I’m finding I don’t like the books that go back and forth between two stories. I hope it’s not a regular thing going forward.

Historia
Anglemore Park is the ancestral home of Lady Emily Hargreave's husband Colin. But the stately calm of country life is destroyed when their neighbor, the Marquess of Montagu, bursts through the French doors from the garden and falls down dead in front of the shocked gathering. But who has a motive for murdering the young aristocrat? The lovely cousin who was threatened by his engagement, the Oxford friend he falsely accused of cheating, the scheming vicar's daughter he shamelessly seduced or the relative no one knew existed who appears to claim the Montagu title?

Big improvement over last book
Revisado: 10-28-24
I wasn’t a fan of the last book although I like the earlier ones. So glad that I’m back to enjoying this series. The narrator is much better than the one on the last book.

Wasn’t my cup of tea
Revisado: 10-25-24
It’s been a mixed bag with narrators in this series. The one was terrible. Combine that with not being able to get into the story this time around. I ended up making it to about the halfway point and then skipping to the last twenty minutes. I’m hoping the next book in the series is more to my liking.

Falls flat
Revisado: 10-12-17
Was really hoping this would be a better read. I love books set in WWII, especially in England. This one had potential but couldn't follow through on it. Pacing was terrible, characters were one dimensional, and the plot was weak. Everything just felt flat.
