Historia
Mathematical Mindsets provides practical strategies and activities to help teachers and parents show all children, even those who are convinced that they are bad at math, that they can enjoy and succeed in math. Jo Boaler - Stanford researcher, professor of math education, and expert on math learning - has studied why students don't like math and often fail in math classes. She's followed thousands of students through middle and high schools to study how they learn and to find the most effective ways to unleash the math potential in all students.

What does it take?
Revisado: 09-28-22
I wish we could just start adopting this and take kids through an entirely different mathematical journey than the one they are suffering with. Maybe if not for all of the students, for those that are disillusioned with math or any subject, and for those that are getting bored with the normal course workload.

Max Tegmark leads us on an astonishing journey through past, present and future, and through the physics, astronomy, and mathematics that are the foundation of his work, most particularly his hypothesis that our physical reality is a mathematical structure and his theory of the ultimate multiverse. In a dazzling combination of both popular and groundbreaking science, he not only helps us grasp his often mind-boggling theories, but he also shares with us some of the often surprising triumphs and disappointments that have shaped his life as a scientist.

Over my head but still very good!
Revisado: 09-21-22
There is a lot to learn from this book but it opened my eyes to how much I don’t know about physics and math. What is clear is that we must take care of this planet and ourselves if we ever want to discover more… and we must educate ourselves in so many different ways.

Historia
In this landmark book of popular science, Daniel E. Lieberman - chair of the department of human evolutionary biology at Harvard University and a leader in the field - gives us a lucid and engaging account of how the human body evolved over millions of years, even as it shows how the increasing disparity between the jumble of adaptations in our Stone Age bodies and advancements in the modern world is occasioning this paradox: greater longevity but increased chronic disease.

Where we came from and where we are going!!!
Revisado: 11-16-17
Loved it!
This book should be required reading... especially part II where Lieberman talks about why the diseases of today are different than those of previous humans, especially from hunter-gatherers and what it means for our future as our human bodies continue to evolve.
I recommend this book for doctors, medical students, the food industry, the fitness industry, teachers, school principals, anyone that works with children, body movement, nutrition, and anyone trying to make sense of evolution and their religious beliefs.
