Required reading for Americans

Total
5 out of 5 stars

I believe a LOT of politicians will resent this book. Like the original by Thomas Paine, the book lays out the abuses we have suffered under the guise of the pols "serving" the elected. They forget who works for whom. Though I am sure it will be attacked as "anti-Obama", it is just as much a book about the Republicans who have placed a burden of laws upon us that they are not subject to.
Please read this book, if you want to see true Hope and Change in the USA.

This book is a heartbreaking and beautiful. It gave me a greater appreciation of the Afghan culture, and as soon as I finished it, I bought "A Thousand Splendid Suns". The author is a master at storytelling.

I only wish...

I only wish for a small bit of the talent and fun displayed in Mr. King's 'On Writing'. Not only did I laugh my butt off hearing about "Super Dave's" experiments and Stephen's experiences as a young writer, but I feel like I have begun to put the tools in my toolbox, and I look forward to digging up the fossils that I discover.
I highly recommend this book for anyone with a story to tell.

I have been on a "King kick" lately. I am not necessarily a fan of horror, but Mr. King creates characters who are not only realistic, but corporeal. I read his books for his characters. This story was no different.
There were not ghouls or goblins in the sense of many of his other novels, but this one was still suspenseful. The human ghoul came out of nowhere, and I couldn't stop until I found what became of the Gingerbread Girl.
I also recommend Duma Key and Lisey's Story.

I loved "I Am America (And So Can You!)" I like to view myself as a conservative (Libertarian) and so some of the things Colbert makes fun of are actually representative of me. I just can't help but laugh! I listen to Bill O'Reilly afterwards to get me back on the straight and narrow.
